The room and the bathroom is fairly spacious. We stayed at japanese style room where where bath robe is available for our usage. I notice that several members mentioned that the room is dirty during their stay, but i guess the ryokan has improved. Our rooms, bathroom, and the bathrobe is clean and we enjoyed our stayed at this ryokan.... more

We stopped in Sapporo for 3 days and 2 nights, staying in Nakamuraya Ryokan. It's in a fairly convenient location - away from the bustle of the city but within walking distance. Everything was organised online through the inn's website prior to our arrival with no problems. The room was clean and, sizewise, was fine for 2 people and 2... more

I stayed at various lodges/guesthouses during my trip in Hokkaido and I think Nakamuraya was one of the less impressive ones that I stayed in. The room was very small and didn't look very clean. We didn't dare to wear the yukata because it felt dirty. The breakfast was not very impressive either. However, the staff were friendly and there... more

We didn't like the Nakamuraya Ryokan at all. First of all, our bathroom was pretty dirty, especially the toilet. Also, we had the feeling, that the room was somehow filthy. We stayed in other Ryokans before and this one was the least enjoyable. The pillows were filled with plastic tubes and totally uncomfortable. The staff was nice tough. We had... more

Our very last night in Hokkaido, we wanted to find a Japanese style inn which is surprisingly hard to find in Sapporo. Hotel is within walking distance of JR station and main entertainment/ eating areas of Sapporo. Clean basic Japanese "washitsu" tatami room with Japanese tea, sweet, and yukata robe to wear for each guest. We actually travel with our... more

We have booked this ryokan for three nights. Rooms are extremly big and a public bath is also available. The ryokan has a convenient location close to JR station. I would not recommend to take the offer for dinner. The food is really good but a little bit expensive. If you like to make the experience of a stay in... more

It is a very good traditional family owned ryokan 10 minutes on foot from the station. It is the equivalent of a 3 stars western hotel. I liked the very real japanese feeling while I did not like the hard and unconfortable pillows of the futon. By the way, be aware that you have to be open minded to the... more

We were able to book this traditional ryokan via the Japan Welcome Inns and found it absolutely delightful. They have only Japanese-stle rooms, some with en-suite facilities. It is family-owned and although their English is very spotty, they made every effort to accommodate us and make us feel comfortable. They have a communal bath which was clean and well tended.... more
