I came here with my wife and son and we where very impressed of the friendly staff. The English skill wasn't perfect but enough to communicate. The room are typical Japanese style. The location is perfect for a walk around Sapporo. They offered us directly a tourist map and showed us interested place close by. Just 10 minutes walk from... More

We stayed for 2 nights in March 2014. The check-in personnel, a bespectacled man spoke fluent English and was very friendly. The rooms are traditional Japanese standard with sufficient basic amenities. A lady dressed in kimono will welcome you in the room and showed you how to make Japanese tea. On the 2nd night we wanted to go for seafood... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in January and this Ryokan more than exceeded our expectations! The staff were very friendly and the room was much larger than we expected for the price and was divided into 2 sections as well as having a private bath. The first night we opted for having dinner in our room and although we... More

The location of this Ryokan is perfect, right In the middle of Sapporo, only 10 min walk to the central station so within a few minutes walking distance are all the shops and restaurants. The hotel is clean and the service is excellent. The staff is so helpful! Upon arrival, we were greeted with tea & some small snacks. The... More

A group of 10 of us stayed in the comfortable Nakamuraya Ryokan during the 2013 Sapporo Snow Festival. Their genuine hospitality and attention to service details were a highlight of our total enjoyment of Sapporo. The traditional Japanese bath, comfortable futon sleeping, and generous breakfast are an excellent warm contrast to the beautiful, but cold, Sapporo Winter events. The staff... More

We stayed for four days at this ryokan and found it absolutely delightful! The stuff were very kind and helpful and there was no problem communicating in English. They even went outside when we first came to the ryokan and greeted us by our names and gave us towels as it was raining cats and dogs. The room is traditional... More

As soon as I walked in the door I was welcomed by name and a big smile, setting the tone for the stay. All the staff, even if their English was poor, were friendly and helpful, using their English as best they could to help me in any way they could. One of the managers spoke good English, and was... Arrived very late, just before midnight and was pleased to discover in the correspondence there was no curfew at this place! Check in was smooth and we were showed to our room on floor up from the Front Desk (confusing for British travellers, since First floor in Japan is Ground Floor). The room comes with tatami style beds (removed by... More

We wanted to stay in a ryokan close to the station - and found this to be perfect: very easy to book online, and to find on foot from the station. We had a lovely, large, well-lit room with a good-sized bathroom. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The staff were delightful - very helpful, most spoke English, and all... More
