It's very convenient and great for you to be there especially after a long travelling time. The JR Sapporo is a main station so it's also time saving for you to get to other cities. It's in the heart of Sapporo so you can go shopping, eating and walking around the main spots easily.

You cannot beat the location and it makes all the difference in the winter season. Rooms are functional and cozy with free wifi. Since this is Japan, courteous and freindly staff is a given (it would be news if you actually get bad service in Japanese hotels).
