The free shuttle service from Sapporo makes it convenient to get to. Room was rather spacious and clean, nothing too special or out of the ordinary. Note that free wifi is only available in the lobby. The highlight was the buffet dinner and onsen! We opted for the package which included sushi, crab and steak on top of the typical... More

I have to start this review to say that, Jozankei is a small Town, so don't expect the hotel to be upscale as the best can be is Average(OK). The Hotel it's self is ok, as I expected for the countryside hotel. The size of the room is big, the bathroom is compact as I expected. Our Dinner was a... More

We stayed at Hotel Shikanoyu on a March-break visit to Hokkaido for 12 nights of our 13 in Hokkaido. We chose Japan for a ski/onsen vacation, as it is our third trip to Japan and we love it every time we go. Coming from Montreal we were accustomed to the weather. The amount of snow they receive is quite impressive.... More

I love the shop which located at the entrance of the onsen, which is a combination of gift shop and convenience store. We choose traditional tatami but bathroom is extremely small so we all went to take shower at the onsen areas. The hotel do need a renovation as everything are pretty old and wifi only avaliable at lobby.

This is a great hotel although my only disappointment was that the food was pretty average, it is a banquet with all you can eat but I expected something more, having stayed at other onsen hotels I know what can be served. Staff were very helpful and the onsen was fantastic, the room was really good and I enjoyed a... More

The hotel has a variety of rooms from traditional tatami to western beds. The staffs are friendly although they can't speak English fluently. Enjoyed the hot spring. My room was on high floor, so I can see the canal from my room. Their staffs are very accommodating, when they realized that I dont take beef, they change my main meal... More

We stayed a night as part of a package tour of Western Hokkaido. This is quite truly an onsen hotel, and the bathrooms.... well they might as well take out the bath, and just leave the toilet bowl there. It's old, and our tour guide told us it was probably one of the older ones in the Jozankei area, and... More
