Beautiful Japanese hotel with 3 to 5 different beautiful Onsen to choose from. Very impressed by the breakfast and in-room Dinner. The surroundings are beautiful, we did a little bit of hiking.

Was on a one-day tour to the Jozankei. There are tons of onsen to choose from. However, for japanese onsen you would only go to male onsen and there isn't any way that you can spend the time with your loved one. Hiring a private onsen becoming a need. Just browse around and found that this hotel is very nicely.... More

Really nice to stay here even though they may not good in English. However, they will try their best to explain the hotel and provide the excellent services. Hotel has some thoughtful arrangements such as place some seasonal drink at the common area or serve the sweet potatos after dinner so that the guests can really relax at Jozankei. Love... More

There we 7 in our group staying in three rooms. Even though it was snowing heavily when we arrived we were met by staff who removed our luggage and took it inside. The entrance is lovely and the foyer area has heaps of personality. Lots of art and historical pieces. Rooms were immaculate, but a little tired. The meals included... More

We checked in on the 9th August for our grand finale night, the tenth night in Hokkaido. It was drizzling and about 4-5 staff came running to the entrance to greet, sheltered us and carried our bags and luggages. The ryokan, big and beautiful with tasteful decorations, together with friendly and helpful staff, looked a picture of warmth and comfort.... More

Japan gives you a choice of "western v. Japanese style" in hotel accommodations. Furukawa offers both; it is a small hotel with many traditional Japanese touches. The staff is always there to greet at every entry you pass through. Kaiseki style dinner and abundant breakfast are amazing, The onsen is uncrowded with sweeping mountain views. Our family vacation here was... More

We fell in love with this place the moment we walked in. This is a small onsen hotel in Jozankei and its full of charm and character. We like the japanese decor in the hotel. Room is japanese style where one sleep on a futon which is comfortable for us. The kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast is excellent, good food... More

I travel solo quite a bit, so it matters to me how welcoming and comfortable my accommodation is, especially in a country where you don't speak the language. Furukawa was my first ryokan experience, and I was so delighted with my stay there. The staff were meticulous and helpful, and made every effort to make my stay so warm and... More
