Looking at the standard room rate of rmb 1,600 for a king-sized bedroom doesn't make it exactly cheap, and not having any western dining outlet in the hotel does not improve on it. Interestingly, the front door to the hotel was never opened and only a small side door was usable... Why? To keep the cold from coming in too... More

I stayed during my business trip to China at this hotel. The location of the hotel is good but there is nothing special to mention about this hotel. The staff at reception does not understand English much which is a problem. Moreover the hotel and the rooms look little older. Positives are rooms are good in size, good bed, bathroom... More

A room deposit of RMB500 is required. We got room 1403, with 2 double beds, and it must face the west side or something because it was extremely hot. And the vents no longer blow AC, just heat, which is ridiculous because the city was still a balmy 50F. We had to get a fan from housekeeping and she was... More

There's no English hotel name on the exterior, just Chinese characters. Decor is not outstanding, staff has very little or no knowledge of English. The lobby bar is not purpose built. It has dividers as partitions from the hotel lobby and it's located under the grand staircase that leads to the 1st floor restaurant where buffet breakfast is served. The... More

We arrived late, and was told there was no hot water. They told us that we could use another room to shower but we had to schedule a time since all the guests were taking turns using that shower. We said no thanks and that we'd just take a cold one. Was told that the hot water was fixed the... More

I didn't enjoy my stay here. Far too large and impersonal to be pleasant. The dining room was like a large food hall and it was difficult to get service. The room was large enough but not especially clean...probably because it liked shabby. We were with a group so it was possibly a cheap option but did not compare with... More

This hotel is well located - 15 minutes walking from the lake. Rooms and beds are clean although the carpet would need changing and paintings would need to be refreshed. It is good value for money. The restaurant only offers Chinese options and I would suggest to have breakfast outside. Walls are quite thin and you wouldn't want lousy neighbours... More

This was the first time i traveled to Hangzhou. No clue about the city or the whereabouts, i was pleasantly surprised. What a nice interesting place. I was recommended West lake golden plaza by the colleague i was to meet and do business with. Its central (of course depends on where your area work lies) and that a plus plus.... More

For the low cost by Western standards, this hotel offers a clean, comfortable room in Hangzhou. As others have mentioned, it is a 15-minute walk from West Lake. If you're adventurous, there are plenty of local restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Check-in and out was easy but we had to leave a deposit of 2x our room rate for a... More
