This hotel is right on the lake so if you're in West Lake for a peaceful, quiet rest, the location can't be beat. However, if you enjoy going out and want to be closer to the action in terms of restaurants and shopping, give it a miss. It is a seller's market for cabs in Hangzhou and we had to... More

One of only 3 hotel properties actually on the lake, this hotel is a lovely find. It's nestled in the woods on the shores of the lake, with walking paths leading into the forest and along the lake. The hotel is renovating so part of the grounds are off limits. The rooms are clean and bright but ours had no... More

The location of the hotel is great, right by the stunning west lake. That said it was still hard to find by walking and a taxi from the station is recommended! The hotel itself is nice enough, it is clean, good sized rooms, however is slightly dated. I don't think for a Chinese hotel it was great value. The one... More

We stayed for three nights in April in a suite with a view of sidewaters of the lake - very quiet, calm and serene. Staff were very helpful at all times, breakfasts were excellent with fresh coffee and enough hot milk to make lattes, fresh cooked eggs any style, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, teas, cooked Chineese dishes, excellent breads, jams... The hotel is in a perfect spot on the edge of the beautiful West Lake and surrounded by woods and parks. Only 1 or 2 expensive rooms are lakeside as in their pictures but many rooms have lake views and they have the hotel has its own tea pavilion and tables lakeside. It is also an easy walk into town... We stayed in this hotel in April 2013. The hotel is average, but they have a very beautiful garden complete with real Chinese pavilion, its private lake (s) and it is right next to Xihu. The famed Hefang street is walking distance and very convenient. A short walk outside along the xihu lake, you can get a boat ride for... More

We had a fabulous banquet at the restaurant inside Liuying Hotel. The hotel is on the bank of the West Lake, with a serene garden that you can see from the restaurant. The cuisine in Hangzhou is flavorful but not spicy like Szechuan or Hunan. We were treated to an enormous array of dishes and they were all delicious. For... More

Quiet and well located, with a garden setting with gazebos overlooking the lake and its amazing sights, night lights and relaxing atmosphere this gives you a calm feeling. small but comfortable rooms, this has a a small walk to a range of local and international restaurants that offer a range of pricing that would suit most budgets.

In October 2008, my cousin and I stayed at the Liuyang Hotel for two nights. We paid 528RMB per night. I had corresponded with a person at the hotel via email several months prior to our trip, which had told me the entire hotel was booked due to a conference. I was told to check back later, which I did.... More

We booked it over eLong.net. The hotel is clean and very well located for those wanting to have feet on the lake. But it is a bit far from the city centre by foot (but taxi are very cheap, about 10-15 RMB would take you back to the hotel). The staff is somehow not very friendly, maybe they don't have... More
