Wife, 2 kids and I arrived around midday Saturday, after checking in went to the Chinese Restaurant for lunch.. Service was abysmal, despite there being only two other tables occupied. We tried to order a number of different dishes, but just about anything that appealed was unavailable. First plate arrived after 20 minutes, with a similar gap for each one... More

There is nothing international about this hotel other than the name. No one speaks a word of English. Rates are not cheap by China standards and breakfast, at 45 Yuan per head, was not up to any standard. And yes, there is no non-smoking floor despite they have sad they out me on one. And they tried to charged me... More

Booked a standard double from ctrip which cost 339rmb. Check in was ok, but thier English was a bit hard to understand. Location could be better. There were on going renovation in the hotel, in day time the noise was unbearable! At night the traffic and the bus stand downstairs also create a lot of noise. The room is clean,... More

1 Night in Hangzhou - hotel booked by the company. First room offered stank of smoke but the next one was fine. Checked in very early and they were fine about that. The rooms are fine and the location - whilst not being prime, is very good for the lake. Staff are nice and the area around the hotel is... More

This hotel was booked through CITS and we stayed here for 1 night. I compare it with the other hotels we've had during our trip. The hotel is not so international as the name suggests. The staff in the reception speak no English (except 1 iperson) and the breakfast is mainly focused on Chinese food. A consumer toaster caused a... More

We stayed here for 4 nights for a business trip just a couple of weeks ago. Location is great, close to West Lake and good restaurants (and a night market!) nearby. Airport shuttle bus passes through this hotel (every 15 min!) so it is very convenient. Some of the rooms need refurbishment. Every time we turned the air-conditioning on, there... More

Stayed here for 4 nights. Great hotel, very polite staff, always there if we had any questions or enquiries. We were accomodated in a room quite hogh up. The room was nice, clean (like always in Chinese hotels), had a nice amenity kit and offered nice views of the sun setting above Hangzhou. Would absolutely stay here again. We did... More

I stayed at the Zhong Shan Hotel for 2 nights in October 2010. The room was very nice, but I wasn't able to turn down the heat in the room so it was very warm. The location is quite good, about a 10 minute walk from West Lake. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was really good - one of... More

I can't understand how the reviews of this hotel are so good. Nobody speaks English. although the reception area is smart and pretty the rooms are dark and small. The hotel feels like a brothel - the mini bar sells sex toys! This is only the second hotel I've ever checked out of early. The bed was so hard that... More

There's nothing to dislike about this hotel. The airport shuttle bus dropped us off across the street from the hotel. The room was standard, which means it was large and had two comfortable beds. There were English channel on the TV. There were a few eateries around the hotel. Along the street to the Westlake on the side of the... More
