I stayed four days at this hotel in November. My room was very large and comfortable. The hotel is right on the lake so it is convenieint for taking long walks around the lake. The staff was accomodating, but not quite as good as the staff at the Shanghai Pudong Shangri-la. The hotel was expensive considering prices in Hangzhou. more

I am a great fan of the Shangri La chain however this must be the bad apple of the bunch. There are two ways of looking at this hotel. If you compare it to other Shangri-la hotels, for example in Singapore or Bangkok, you'll be dissapointed. This property is in line with other Shangri-La hotels we have stayed at, and certainly meets international four star and Chinese five star standards. Went for a casual dinner at this hotel and was badly disappointed in general. Hotel first impression is old fashion. Presentation of the buffet was very poor, nothing exciting.
