The decoration is old but in good function. The maintainance job is done well in this aspect. room is spacious and clean. this is a very typical hotel you can expext in china. Overall, meets the price range.

The room is spacious. In room facilities etc are standard with safe, mini bar, LCD TV, free Internet but no wifi. TV channels are all local Chinese stations. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, and not too tasty either. It is however near the scenic West Lake, and it is possible to walk there from the hotel. The price... More

Stayed there for two nights. Overall service met my expectations because I am not picky. But my wife didn't like the hotel for these reasons: 1. smoky and cold lobby; 2. tiring hallway (especially the carpet); 3. small bathroom. To be fair, these are true. The hotel really needs some upgrade. Location-wise, the hotel is on a busy streeet but... More

The staff was very friendly. The location is good for business travelers; a decent walk from West Lake as other vacationers have mentioned. The quality and selection of breakfast buffet food was very good. I don't live in a big city so my review of sleep quality was affected by the horns of the traffic below. I imagine the rooms... More

This is a Chinese hotel struggling to bring itself up to date and meet international standards. The one big asset they have in this is their staff, who are eager to be helpful and, when communication in English is difficult for one of them, are quick to get a co-worker who is able to help. Rooms are clean, comfortable and... More

This hotel was recommended to us by a travel agent and we regret going along with their suggestion. The rooms were not really clean and sheets were yellowed. Though we requested a non-smoking room, on the day of check-in, we were told that none were available. Free Internet was available but not wi-fi. The hotel's website talked about its swimming... I had picked this hotel thinking it was a little closer to West Lake than it was. The walk there took 20 -25 minutes but we enjoyed all that one experiences while walking in new surroundings. The staff were very pleasant, willing to get someone with better English skills to help as necessary. They seem to want to show they... More

Sunny Hotel, a 4-star hotel (at least that's what the hotel website says) is strategically-located in the middle of the main business district in Hangzhou. It faces a busy road, which is a convenience in a city like Hangzhou, where cabs are pretty hard to find. Shopping malls are within a short walking distance, but the main tourist attractions in... I stayed here for two nights while visiting Hangzhou. It is conveniently located about 15 minutes walk from the West Lake and in the middle of a busy shopping district. The service was quite good. The rooms were ok, although the beds were a bit hard and things felt a bit aged. The breakfast buffet was ample but not of... More

This is a good 3-star hotel...pure and simply. Don't get too thrilled. Nothing flash, nothing glam....OK location, OK price, The rooms? Circa 1990 in a faux-plush White House decor. The lobby? again, an odd place.....ugly shops, lifts followed by the check in. .again, faux glam white marble 1990. For most guests its probably "heavenly" or the equivelant. Check in staff... More
