The hostel is in the best location possible, near a nice shopping area and close to the West Lake. The facilities are average, with lots of beds in a small room, and little ventilation. The staff is nice, but we always have to wait for little things. As hostel guests, we have 20% off at the cafe and 15% off... More

Cheap. For the money you pay you get what you'd hope for. Nothing special. Staff. Very helpful when asked, although they often seemed very busy. Rooms. Average. Ok bed with minimal storage (dorm) Facilities. Average . Key cards kept breaking and needed replacing daily. Pool table was ripped. Not much of a common area for which to relax in.

Pretty typical hostel, but nothing special. We had a private twin room that was clean and a reasonable size, but the doona was thin and the only towels were the size of face washers. The staff at the front desk spoke English and were helpful. It is in a good location near the Drum Tower and about 15 minutes walk... More

I love cats and when we were greeted by a Siamese cat at the reception desk, it made me smile! I was touched when I found out our room were near the yard. It was very nice, felt like in 'ancient' times because the building architecture is like the one you usually see in Chinese traditional- themed drama. In the... More

The location of the hostel is good. We had a double room the luxe, where the bed is on a loft. So actually it is a mattress on the floor on this loft. It looked nice and slept well. These rooms were located at a kind of courtyard, so depending on your neighbors it is quiet or not. For the... More

On the up side: - great location - nice and helpful staff who can speak decent English - clean and pleasant rooms and accomodations - a choice of 2 cool different restaurants next door, managed by the hostel (although I found the 'western' one a little expensive) On the down side: - small common area - small rooms compared to... We had a double bed with attached bath and stayed for 2 nights. The room was clean and tidy. The staff was friendly and spoke English well. The rooms were secure and we had to use a card to access the courtyard. The cafe was a bit high priced for a hostel. But, it was decent coffee. The location is... More

Myself and three other friends made the best decision of our time in China when we booked this hostel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly and helpful faces. After having stayed in a dreadful hostel in Shanghai, are spirits were very low. This hostel brought us from the brink of insanity back into a joyful state.... More

Hostel is a homy place with good english-speaking,helpful staff. Rooms were hygienic with western toilet and decent showers. Excellent location. 1,5 km from the railway station, in a quiet pedestrian sidestreet away from the busy ,touristy Hofang street. It's an animated 1km walk down this street to west-lake, where you can rent the city bikes. 20 % discount for the... More
