This hotel had major renovation for the recent Hangzhou Asian Games. The pictures here in Trip Advisor is way outdated. It's a hidden gem and it's really good. Shopping districts and restaurants are abundant nearby. I definitely recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here in late october 2019 and found this to be an excellent hotel. The desk and restaurant staff both spoke very good english. The rooms was modern, very clean, fully functional, had large viewing windows and a fine bathroom. Bathrobes and slippers were supplied. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with fruit and juices, coffee and pastries, and many asian dishes. We only faulted it on the ability to find it. It is actually behind all other buildings that line the road. You have to either walk between buildings on Dongpo road or take the alley off Youdian road. There are no signs marking it at either place. We both greatly enjoyed our stay in this hotel for several days and I do recommend it for all travelers. It is a great value too!!

This hotel is very close to West Lake, easy to walk out and get to the walkway around the lake. It's also walking distance to a huge number of restaurants, shops, cafes, and teahouses. It's a little less expensive than the bigger, western branded hotels. It does not have a gym or swimming pool, but all I wanted was a nice, safe hotel room. RenHe delivers with a comfortable bed, a great selection of teas (complimentary) in the room, and a minibar. I did think it was odd that a Chinese luxury hotel open to foreigners did not have anyone at the front desk who could speak English. I was able to check in with no problem (I had a reservation already), but for my 3 day stay, if I needed to ask a question someone from the desk would call over one of the bellhops who spoke a very small amount of English, but enough to communicate. That was odd to me, usually nice hotels have at least one person in registration who speaks English well. Otherwise the room was great, and the location is fantastic.

The hotel is located at the back of Dongpo Road, surrounded by many famous restaurants, including KFC.West Lake is just walk across the DongPo Road. The hotel is quite old in fact. I stayed here sometime in 2004 but still keeping it very clean. I wanted to buy the breakfast voucher but was told there are more foods to select from once I walk out the hotel. It is so true you actually spoil of choice of what to eat for breakfast, or lunch or dinner. There is one Hangzhou Resturant 1921 just outside the hotel serving good Hangzhou dishes at reasonable price. But you must come early to get the queue number. We were there twice for dinner. The MRT statiion is about 7 minutes walk away. Overall the hotel is very good in term of location and foods. Will stay here again if we return to Hangzhou.

The front desk people were friendly and helpful. The room is small and clean but refrigerator doesn’t work. When we checked in at the first day, we found all the folded towels were damp. KFC and a good restaurant 知味观 are nearby.

The hotel is very close to West Lake, staff are friendly but know very little English. There are many restaurants and shops near the area. The room was clean and decently-sized. Great hotel for its price.

The location of hotel is convenient. Close to shops, restaurants, metro and fountain show. We had a connecting room for our family of 6. One room had king bed; other room had 2 beds (smaller than full size but larger than twin). Room was fine. Nothing special. We had partial view of lake. Breakfast was disappointing. Almost all Chinese dishes which I don't mind except that food was cold and not very good. Overall, I was not impressed with this hotel. Next time if I come back to to West Lake, I would book hotel on other side of lake. It is quieter but prettier. This side is very commercial and very crowded which detracted from beauty of lake for me.

Good Location, but can be a little difficult to find via taxi, tucked behind Main Street. Reception very little English but were very helpful, asked for a room with lake view, but lost in translation. Rooms are good for one night stay, shower room and general room tidy. Air conditioner could do with improvement. Overall a recommended short hotel, ideal for visiting West lake which literally over the road Recommended

I stayed here with colleagues on my way to a work engagement in both April and May this year, and again in June with my husband who came to China for the first time. On all occasions the hotel staff were helpful and the rooms were clean. The key attraction of this hotel however is that it is literally a 100 metres from West Lake, and 2 blocks from the Longxiangqiao subway exit. It is also right next door to one of the best dumpling restaurants in Hangzhou, Zhiweiguan. Don't be put off by the dark entrance, barn like interior or bright melamine crockery of this restaurant; the food is excellent, particularly the shanghai soup dumplings. If you speak no mandarin, take a pen and paper and head for the lines of people at the cashier. Hand over your order written as numbers eg A4 x 3, and pay. Then you'll be shown which lines to stand in to pick up the various parts of your order. Sounds complex but it's worth it. The takeaway section out the front sells pork buns and an amazing vege bun, but they often sell out by lunchtime on weekends. Back to the hotel: not all staff speak English, but enough do to ensure that check in and out went smoothly even for those with not a word of Mandarin. Just take note that we couldn't pay American Express and that it is wise to keep your checkin receipt as you may need to produce it at checkout. The only other difficulty is that the entrance to this hotel is in a short dog-leg shaped alley; again, don't be put off, as that is why the place is so cheap for its amazing location.

Stayed here for 4 nights while in Hangzhou. The location is awesome, especially if you plan to spend time at the West Lake. The room was tidy, clean, and a reasonable size. Friendly staff were also helpful when required.
