The Empark Grand Hotel is in the center of Kunming. Seems to be built in recent years because the all the facilities looks new. The hotel owns a large lobby with beautiful water falls. The rooms are big and clean. But it's pitiful that there's no in-room wifi service. The cuisine offered by the hotel is also great!

When we booked we had no idea of the distance. After e checked in we found that its location was not as good. We had to spent more money and time to get to the city and we were not able to enjoy the sights of city so much unless we have a car and a guide with us everyday.... More

In general I had no complain except checking out was a little bit slow. The room was huge, in fact the biggest I ever stayed. The internet was fine, the food was fine and the location was fine. It was good.

The Empark Grand should really be reviewed as two different hotels, the main building and the North wing as they call it. We had as a time share exchange a twin room in the North wing. (Standard room) It was very basic and cleanliness in the room could have been improved. The bathroom had a fair bit of black mould... More

I was there from 5,7,8,9,10 November 2013. On the first night, that is 5 November, I was put in the left wing with the even room number. I found out the room is so hot. Later, I find out that during autumn, the air conditioner for cooling on the side is turned off, so the air cond only transmit wind... More

We stayed here for a night before we took the morning bus to Yangyang. The hotel was only 15mins away from the bus station which worked out really well for us but not great if you want to be 'in town'. As a whole to hotel was a pleasant surprise. We were in the North tower and the room was... More

my 2nd visit was much better; the North Tower is of a much higher standard; large clean rooms, pretty much a 4/5 star hotel. I also discovered there is a gym and a swimming pool so overall stay much better.

The location of the hotel is quite good. bit far from the city center, but closer to the airport and to the stone forest. It means 30-40 minutes to the airport in not rush hours (60-80 RMB, from the airport with normal taxis, and 150 RMB to the airport with hotel’s organized taxi). The hotel has two wings; the better... Having travelled around China for a week before arriving here it was a nice change from the somewhat "Soviet" style hotels on offer elsewhere. This is very Western in feel whilst still offering eveything the Chinese traveller is used to - it is also remarkably cheap compared to other hotels in the region given the quality on offer. The room... More
