Big old hotel, with institutional kinda feel. Rooms are OK, but reeck of smoke from previous guests. Maybe once a great place to stay, but we thought a bit over priced and while central location, road works meant hard to get around.

My feeling when I first stepped into this hotel - Large property with open-air car parks Decoration from the last century Large lobby that is typical of a Chinese hotels run by a Chinese state-owned company Staff seems very relaxed and don't have enough work to occupy them It was my feeling. And the room - Suprised to see those... More

I came on foot to this older Kunming hotel, walking with duffel in hand through 6 inches of water in the midst of a considerable flood that had nearly overwhelmed the city the night before. The staff seemed helpful in a somewhat formal manner but English fluency is in very short supply, at least during my stay and the concierge... More

We were told this was the first hotel in Kunming to accept foreign tourists. The lobby is very grand - a sample of how China might have wanted to impress tourists. While out might have been wonderful in days past, we felt it could use a little more attention to detail. We had two rooms. We'd asked for non-smoking rooms... More

Stayed for a week on business. Hotel is located in an older area of central Kunming making it difficult to walk to other restaurants or the newer hotel area to the west of it. Room was clean but with VERY hard beds, almost like a pallet. No smoking floor is only a suggestion, several times I walked by rooms with... More

Stayed with my 5 year old son on my way to the south of Dali with the expectation of enjoying the city in the evening before flying the next morning. Wow, next time I will have to change hotel or city as Kunming laks international hotels. Although well colated, this hotel, smells bad from the entrance, rooms dirty, smokey and... More

This hotel has seen better days. As is often the case in China, maintenance here is not emphasized and the facilities have gotten a bit dirty and tired. The staff is not particularly helpful. The breakfast was good, especially the noodle soup. One thing not to miss is the bathroom amenities. On the vanity I found an absolutely hilarious bathtub... More

Checked in on 18 Mar 2013. Generally OK with basic amenities except things are quite dated but well maintained. Things I did not expect about the hotel was that there was no city map available at the reception. There is free internet in the room but not wifi - hence you need a lap top to be connected. Beauty is... More

Good location to get to both city center and air port, both can be reached within 20 min by taxi. Not too much nightlife choices around the hotel. The room service and equipment are good. But not meet 4 star standard. A good choice for business trip. I had been there in winter days, and the room warming equipment seemed... More

Stayed here on business. It's a large and spacious place with many amenities. Great buffet breakfast with wide selection of food and coffee as good as it will be in a hotel in China. Wifi is fast in the lobby and bar areas. The rooms are good though not great but at this price it's a safe bet and good... More
