The property is very modern and luxurious, clearly at a 4 or 5 Star level. The staff is quite friendly and courteous, however, most speak little or no English, making communication an issue for Americans. From March 25 through 28, I stayed at the Kai Wah Plaza, Kunming. Hotel is clean and room was comfortable but could use updating. Expect limited closet and drawer space for clothing and the laundry service is excellent. The Internet access is extremely sluggish and intermittent. We've stayed at the Green Lake hotel and decided on a change, as the Green Lake is a bit overrated. Opted for the Kai Wah Plaza based on information from eLong booking service.
