Caring staff, lovely rooms, good food, great location for seeing the city. Walk to indoor/outdoor bazaar. Beautiful mountain views. Management, front desk staff, business staff all went out of their way to help us when our daughter lost her passport.

The hotel seems to promise a lot with the marble, glass, and soaring ceiling of the lobby, but the watered-down, over-priced drinks at the bar, the aching air-conditioning, wavering wi-fi and worn carpets tell the true story. This place is getting by, more or less, and little money is going into routine maintenance. The pool is grimy, and swim at... More

Great location, 15 years old, mostly well maintained (pool has seen better days), rooms are very well appointed, so was very happy overall, with the exception of poor wifi that dropped out constantly and was slow when you could get online. Candy, the guest relations manager, was excellent, booked some train tickets for us and changed our room (twin to... More

the location is in the heart of the Kunming city, walking distance to street food and many touristic shops. the rooms are comfortable, clean, and if you stay at a high floor (30+) you have a breathtaking view of the city especially at night. breakfast buffet where a western traveler will find a lot to eat.

This is one of the most prestigious 5 star hotels in Kunming. Any taxi driver will know how to drive there. Good location and good place. Most of the staff can speak some English. Near to the Railway station and the bus from New air port stop very closer to this Hotel. So, no need to get a taxi. Just... More

Stayed at this hotel room are ok...a deluxe room but compare tother hotel for this deluxe room type the size is considered small...more over the drive is too congested too many park cars and drop off becomes very rush due to vehicles awaiting behind...to make it feel more congested there is a huge construction of the World Trade Centre going... Good size room with comfortable bed and pillows. Bright room, good shower and bath tub. The down side is the air conditioning as it seems that nothing happen when you adjust the temperature knob. The only consolation is that you can push the window open but be mind full it is a dangerous situation with kids around. Breakfast is just... More

So, I'm passing through Kunming and I learn that my layover will be stretched to a 1/2 day and there are no landside lounges (besides rooms for $15/hr) in the airport. Kai Wah seemed to be the most sensible choice in the middle of the city, a few blocks from the main train station. I was here over CNY, so... More

The Kai Wah Plaza International is a clean, modern hotel. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I arrived late and there was a large group from HK checking-in ahead of me. One staff member walked around the group and asked me to one side -- saving me :20 minutes or more in line! Once I had been given the... More

5 star hotel with 4 star amenities. Room was warm enough as the air condition was working fine. Other than that nothing to shout about except it is near train station with airport buses that you can take at jinjiang hotel which is diagonally opposite this hotel. Swimming pool area needs to be upgraded as it is very old and... More
