Kai Wah Plaza is in a nice tall building offering great views of Kunming skyline. Hotel rooms are nice, slighly outdated. Free wifi works great. Laundry service fast, bust ironing quality poor. Minibar fridge was off, not all items from the list were available. Good choice of tv channels in English. Sofa was stained with blood and some white substance,... More

Breakfast in the restaurant is not so good .usual continental with viennoiserie, fat sausages omelette cocktail tomatoes . If you want to escape this you can turn to Chinese dishes but they are not so good. Some Cantonese dishes should be proposed

Kai Wah Plaza hotel in connected to the convention center complex. The entrance is somewhat awkward from a back alley up the hill. The lobby area is pretty basic. There is a restaurant in the first level which I did not try. We had 3 in the room and a roll away bed was provided. The room was good size,... More

good value for money, it is a very good 4* hotel. the location is good, in what they call old city, so not far from many restaurants and shopping streets. breakfast is ok, including chinese and western options. the rooms are big with plenty of space for an extra bed if needed. there is always someone at the front desk... A very comfortable room and bed on the Executive floor of this big hotel - at a very reasonable cost. All the staff are very helpful and speak sufficient english for easy communication. I dined in the Chinese restaurant, choosing on a well translated menu, and relaxed with cold beer in the airy lobby bar. Breakfast in the Executive lounge... More

I stayed 2 nights in Kai Wah Kunming Yunnan and I was firstly very impressed by their new International Airport. The design is not far away from the Calatrava style with its nightly illuminated picture to be one of the best I ever saw. At arrival, you are immediately informed that the real Shagri La is at a 40 minutes... More

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights based on our tour leader's recommendation. No major complaint about the room, everything is great, bed is cozy, bathroom is great. The only flaw in our room is that the heater is not functioning well, even after we set at 30 degree Celsius, and after a technician came and a few phone calls... More

booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. Check in was a breeze, very efficient and polite. Rooms were very clean with a great bathroom and toiletries. The concierge arranged great tickets, at a reduced price, to see the show Dynamic Yunnan. The seats were 5 rows from the stage and normally went fir 360 RMB per ticket. We got a price... More

The room was clean and the location of the hotel is not to bad - it's actually pretty good for when arriving by train. Unfortunately the staff speaks no English beside 5 to 10 standard sentences. The pool and the gym were horrible - especially the pool and it's surroundings. Half of the amenities were broken. And in the toilet... More

We would like to thank Assistant Manager Catherine Zhou for her amazing help with our questions about kunming during our stay here. The hotel staff arranged a day trip with a local taxi woman for 700kwai to stone forest, and then golden temple and back to our hotel. The hotel itself is great! Nice lobby area, good looking pool (so... More
