Really think this an average hotel. Rooms have the basics but are old and really need refurbished. Location wise you are really quite some way from the central area and also from the transport hubs. Facilities wise yes you get access to the Sofitel pool etc. but food, drink spa service are very expensive considering. That being said the staff... More

Although conveniently located in the city walls, the hotel is tired and the rooms are very small. The staff were generally helpful although there was little help when it came to ordering taxis and their idea of how far it was a good idea to walk in 35 degree heat was a little off! The air conditioning in our room... More

This hotel in the centre of Xi'An was nothing special, except for the doorman/bell boy Steven who did an outstanding job welcoming us back every time when we were returning. We stayed in this hotel early August as a family of 6 with teenage children. The hotel organisation was not very smooth, although everything ended up working eventually. Breakfast could... More

The building is old but give you a classic feeling. Renovation isn't new as well but it's clean and the room is big enough. Location is great. Sit between Bell Tower and Train Station with only distance of 2-3 bus stops, so very convenient to visit the city center in the bell tower area and also take the 306 public... More

The hotel was in good condition, great location, easy to walk out in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel only does breakfast which is excellent both chinese and western options both hot and cold. Lunch and dinner can be taken at the Sofitel which is in the same complex.

This was the second stop on our Globus tour and much more elegant than the last hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and the food was delicious. The hotel is in a complex with the Sofitel where guests have access to their amenities. The Mercure doesn't have a lounge, but guests are referred to the Sofitel, which... More

We chose this hoping that the extra money would make it a better choice than the next-door Mercure. I am not sure it was worth it. The hotel is looking tired and the rooms are getting a little shabby. The bathrooms need to be renovated, and for some reason there were icky mildewy bath mats rolled up in our bathrooms,... More

We got a very good rate on Agoda and were very happy with our rooms. The hotel is in a complex with the Sofitel and guests at the mecure can use the pool and gym at Sofitel which is good. Location is good, we walked to the Muslim area (west of the hotel) to eat and shop, and also found... More

Walking into the foyer of the Grand Mercure, you feel a bit overwhelmed by all of the opulence: marble and chandeliers and attentive doormen and all the usual signs of fantastic luxury... However, it's just a bit of a shame that the same sense of luxury doesn't extend to the rooms, which showed quite a need of renovation. Most significantly,... More
