The hotel is set in a set in a series of complex of Accor hotels. The rooms are nice and big, the beds very comfortable. I wouldn't mind staying in the room for a month and write a book. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in June, at one of the most sunny and hottest months in the year of Xi’an. The hotel in excellent located with on a 15 minutes’ walk from the subway station, which can take you everywhere in the city. Please bear in mind when arriving around rush-hour, that taxi’s are very scarce. You can better... More

Like most people, I was there for the warriors. Hotel is very nice just as all the other reviews indicate. We were upgraded to a massive sweet with 1-1/2 baths for the excellent rate of $80. I had only a day to get to the warriors and my plane was late into Xi'An. I was planning on dropping bags at... More

We were booked into the Grand Mercure as part of a Thomas Cook signature holiday. The hotel sits in a complex of Accor hotels, with all the facilities apart from breakfast within the Sofitel. The room has very good electronic gadgets for light and air-conditioning control from the bedside tables. When we checked in we were given a room on... More

This really is a decent hotel. It is clean, the rooms are an adequate size as are the bathrooms, the beds are comfortable and the location, although some reviewers have said it's not that central, is still good. The 'compound' on Renmin square is very well kept and the concept is great, with several hotels and facilities within the gardens.... More

After a long day of visiting amazing sites it was good to come back to a comfortable room located among pleasant surroundings. The staff were efficient, pleasant and knowledgeable. There is a relatively expensive fee to use the internet,-we had no laptop- however, it was waived for us for some reason. We did not have to walk to the business... More

Definitely a 5 star hotel. The staff (all uniformed) were attentive, extremely polite and attentive, and allowed almost anything we wanted. The free toiletries were good -- L'Occitane, and wifi was unlimited and free. We did not go for hotel buffet as we wanted to eat local Xian food (Hui Min Jie - Muslim Street, amazing!). Taxis here are extremely... More

We stayed for three nights at the Grand Mercure on Renmin between 23 and 26 April 2012. The hotel is situated amid a cluster that includes the Sofitel on Renmin next door. We were upgraded to a Deluxe suite that was an elegant room consisting of a bathroom in the foyer entrance, a beautifully decorated lounge area and a traditional... More

This hotel was booked for us by Trailfinders as part of a package (flights plus accommodation), and whilst it's not the sort of place we usually stay (we prefer smaller, more intimate, courtyard type hotels) it was good. The room was spacious with comfy bed and good bed linen. Good bathroom with excellent shower. The breakfast was superb - so... More

When you check in at reception you are handed a map of Renmin Square. You need one. There are five hotels within the walls of Renmin Square, with the Sofitel having an east and west wing - both huge. The Grand Mecure is everything you would expect from a 5* hotel, beautiful white linen, spotless, prompt service, wonderful breakfast, etc.... More
