Grand Mercure is located in a park-like area with two other massive hotels. It's fairly well located for walking into the city, although it isn't a particularly interesting walk until you get near the centre and you need to cross several very busy roads, always fun in China! Our room was very nice, with a massive bed, slightly hard, but... more

on arrival, we were greeted by a very happy bell boy, who made us feel welcome straight away. on entering the reception, you notice the beautiful decoration and the cleanliness of the the place. On the reception the staff were again, smiling and really pleased to welcome you to the hotel. having had a very easy signing in, and passport... more

As our preferred brand IHG currently doesn't have hotel in Xi'an, we stayed at this midscale ACCOR hotel adjacent to Sofitel. We paid less than $60 per night for standard non-smoking room. It was on a smaller side but it was still very modern and had everything midscale hotel should have. We could use Sofitel's facilities, including pool and hot... more

I thought this hotel was fantastic and was surprised to read that some reviewers were disappointed . As an Accor Advantage Member, I received even more value from 50% food and beverage at the hotel (would reccomend this membership, its great value). Check in was very good and our room was available as soon as we arrived (9.00am - well... more

It was part of the Grand Mercure franchise in a tri-hotel complex. Secluded from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Xi'an, the hotel was quite good. Rooms were clean and food in the restaurants in the complex were good. We had a bad experience with the staff refusing to change the room to a non smoking one saying... more

This hotel had the worst beds we had slept on throughout China. Rock hard was an understatement. The hotel was supposedly a four star but I would rate as a two. The rooms were tiny and the bathroom was even smaller. Free toiletries and kettle but the overall lustre of the hotel had gone a long time ago. The adjoining... more

This hotel was functional. Only stayed here for one night. The front of the hotel was unimpressive. Appeared like a relic of the communist building. The same for the hallways. Room was fine, although a little small. Bathroom was crowded. Key here is the the hotel was functional... Breakfast was pretty good, in that there was a lot to choose... more

I picked this hotel based on the excellent reviews here but was quite disappointed with the experience. First the good news. Upon checking-in, I was told that I was upgraded to a suite as the type of room i requested was overbooked. Second and final positive comment is on the location of this hotel. You can visit most of the... more

Nothing much to add to previous reviews, but to agree with the sentiments. Attentive staff, large room, excellent facilities, good food and great location - what more do you need from a hotel! We arrived early, off the shanghai train and were able to check in on arrival. Special mention to William who was arranged a larger room as we... more

The weather in Xi'an was not great while we visited. The fog combined with the pollution, the traffic and the people were quite overwhelming. However, each day after visiting the sights returning to the Grand Mercure was like an oasis of calm. The hotel is located in a park like setting which would have been even lovelier in nice weather.... more
