Excellent location. Cross the street from the Drum Tower, close walk to the Bell Tower, Great Mosque, Islam Quarter, malls and the airport bus stops in front of the hotel! That was very handy and helped me to save time and money. The room was small and the furniture old but clean though. The staff spoke English and were helpful.... more

This hotel is attached to the bus-operator so if you take the airport bus and arrived into the city, RMB27/trip/50 minutes, you will be approached by the receptor at the stop in front of this 3 stars hotel. It is very convenient if you don't want to spend more time searching for better hotels. There are plenty of hotel around... more

Like the other reviews said, the location is great. The bus from the airport drops you directly in front of the hotel. Upon arrival, the staff greets you at the bus and helps you with checking in and setting up a tour. So I was very happy with the way the staff treated me. As for the actual hotel, it's... more

As with others reviewing this hotel, the price was right, but it was a rather tired and run-down hotel. The view was good, as I'm including a pic taken from my room. The restaurant was bad. First they gave me the standard English menu, with items the Chinese seem to think you'll want to eat, (like a bad version of... more

Bad parts: -Dark Halls? really weird like walking into a underground dungeon! -Breakfast, bad. Nothing you want to eat... well maybe toast.. heh -Carpet... was covered by drop sheets... as if they were painting .. but I think it was a cover up for bad carpet.. - Hotel lights... beam into your window. 24 hr sunlight - Noise, traffic and... more

First the good news: this hotel is in an excellent location near the Drum Tower, Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter, a bunch of restaurants, and the shopping mall. Also, the price is outstanding ... assuming the price hasn't changed very much since I stayed there (I think we paid about $30/room/night). Being centrally located, it's easy to arrange a tour out... more

We stayed here for 3 nights and apart from the great location and the fact that the airport bus stops outside there is nothing here which would entice me back. The corridors were dingy and dark, the carpet in our room was covered in stains and even though the beds were OK there was an overall feeling that the room... more

This hotel may have been 3 stars a few years ago but it is now a sad reflection of its former....it is now more silicon sealant, sticky tape and non-working power points. The breakfast is underwhelming. The orange cordial is served warm. The coffee 4 cup drip filter suprisingly doesn't keep up with the demand even with their tiny cups.... more

Stayed for one night in a brief overnighter to see the Terracotta warriors. Was a terrific hotel, very comfy, clean, plenty of filtered water! Smelt a bit smokey but so does the rest of China! One thing though the breakfast is discusting, go elsewhere for breakfast even if its McDonalds across the road. Great location, close to Muslim Markets and... more

We stayed at Melody Hotel during our trip around China in June 2007. The hotel is perfectly located just opposite the bell tower and the Muslim quarter of Xian, full of great restaurants offering really tasty food. As some reviewers already pointed out, the airport bus stops in front of the hotel, so the airport transfer is easy and convenient.... more
