This hotel is lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful. Has two restaurants (One chinese and one western) which are both great and reasonably priced. They change the carpet in the lifts everyday with the days of the week on them which i was impressed with. The location is ok but taxis are so cheap that we never wandered around... more

This hotel is great, myself and my partner stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is very clean, but geting a little old for Shangri-la standards. One of the best hotels in the area though if you want to see the Terrocotta Warriors. more

Dear Onestepatatine_9, Thank you for your very positive comments on the hotel. Indeed we are the closest internationally owned and manged hotel to most of the sights of this very historic city - particularly the Museum of the World famous Terracotta Army and Cavalry. With the current state of traffic in the city this is a definite plus for any...

Not a bad hotel. Perhaps one of the best in town. But not as fancy as most Shangri-La hotels. We stayed 3 nights. The highway outside is very busy-almost impossible to cross the street. The rooms were comfortable and clean. No complaints. Live entertainment at the bar...a nice touch. Elevators were very fast-no waiting. The buffet breakfast was a mix... more

My husband and I lived at the Golden Flower for almost 2 years. I have nothing but great memories of all the staff and our WONDERFUL apartment (753). The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff were always friendly and made every effort to accomodate us. While it is not the newest of the Shangri-La hotels in Xi'an, it... more

I stayed here and I must say that it didn't surprise me! It has a great entrance, very fashion, but it stays by there! The room was large and the bed was HUGE! A positive point for that, but the bathroom was very small and it looked old, with some broken tiles in it! Not suitable for a supposedly five-star... more

Nice hotel but location a bit way out of Zian. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the main restaurant in the hotel offered very good western type food at reasonable cost. Bedroom was very modern and clean. Pity they don't upgrade their T.V's to flatscreens as these are normal in most hotels. more

We spent 2 nights here with our two children (4 and 7) and couldn't have asked for better service from the hotel staff. We booked interconnecting rooms as we were worried about space for the kids but could have got away with the Horizon suite and and an extra bed and survivied the two nights OK. We got a rate... more

As part of our China tour, we stayed at the Shangri-La on May 18 and 19, 2008. Our room (636) was a king bed, non-smoking room located on the side of the hotel facing a street area. The room was HUGE and very quiet. It was a good distance from the public lobby area of the hotel (and the hotel... more

This hotel is just outside the city center of Xian. You will still need a taxi for a 10 minutes drive only. The rooms are clean but in poor condition. The size and ceiling heigth are border line. This is OK for a night or 2 but nothing more. I asked to check some recently removed ones, They are indeed... more
