Not much else to add to the reviews. Amazing hostel, great staff who answer your questions before you've even asked them, cleanest hostel I've seen, facilities here beat hotels which cost 10 times the price in the UK. Great atmosphere with activities happening every night of the week. And such a low price! My only points of issue; the food... More

We stayed here in a double room for 2 nights. It is about a 10 minute walk to the bell tower, where the bus from the airport stops and the geographical heart of the walled city. The street is ok, narrow and not the most inviting but it seems safe enough. Staff are friendly and most speak good English, but... More

We stayed here for two nights (as most people do and you must know; xi an is underestimated! Could have stayed longer) and we loved this hostel. Beds, oh man they were good! Perfect thick matresses, big beds, which is good for tall Euopeans. Spacious rooms. There is a great redtaurant and fun bar, but no noise problems at all!... More

We loved hantang house- it was definitely one of our favourite hostels in china. Our double room with ensuite was excellent value and better than most of the mid range hotel rooms we've stayed in. Also comfiest bed we've slept in in 2 months backpacking around china. The staff were helpful and the bar downstairs is really sociable. Laundry service... More

Having been hosteling my way through China on a 1 month backpacking holiday, I can safely say that Hantang House was the friendliest and most comfortable hostel I had the pleasure in staying on. Upon arrival I checked into my room, an 8 bed mixed dorm, and went back downstairs to book myself onto a tour to the Terracotta Army... More

We stayed in an 8 bed dorm for two nights. The price is fine for the rooms and the service is ok. The prices in the bar area though just as expensive as in England which is a shame as everything else was fine. If you walk down the road you can find cheap food and beer which is the... More

This place is very cheap, location seems good and the rooms are very basic but ours was spacious. The only issue is we were under the impression that it's a hotel but it's definitely a hostel with a noisy bar at the bottom and many loud backpackers.

We just came back today from week's stay in Xian and stayed at Hantang House on the 14th, 16th and 19th June 2014. We browsed TripAdvisor on 27th May and Booking.com came back immediately with confirmation of 3 nights at Y240 per night. The staff at Hantang House followed immediately with email offers to book tours and how they can... More

We did not stay here but used them to book two tours - one to the Teraccota Warriors and the other to the tomb of Jingdi. They were very helpful, staff spoke excellent English, their tours were reasonable and information on what was included was very clear. The Terracota Warrirors tour had a guide who was excellent. It was a... More
