Anyone who doesn't like this hotel, doesn't have a soul. My wife and I found this is a quiet resting place in marvellous traditional setting which backs onto the marvellous Tang Dynasty Theme Park. The rooms are romantically decorated and it feels as though you are staying in a museum in a positive sense. The western breakfast isn't great, but... More

Well placed for a walk around the Wild Goose Pagoda and the new public spaces that are suitable for an evening stroll and include restaurants, street vendors, an open fountain area where there are nightly light shows, etc. Not far from a large mall. Away from the city center. The hotel grounds themselves are quite peaceful, a series of courtyards... More

We had asked our tour operator for court yard hotels where possible and the Tang Dynasty Art Garden Hotel was delightful. Tucked away in the last courtyard was quiet and looked out onto the park. The room was small but comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the bathroom with its wooden bath was a delight. I indulged in a foam bath... More

Very good location but although room was clean, it was dark and cramped. Hotel lobby not very welcoming with plenty of pop-up displays and little seating provided. Pretty gardens but no hotel bar!! The breakfast was very disappointing. Several, large round tables in the breakfast room so having to share with others when busy. The Reception staff were dressed traditionally... More

We spent two nights here at the end of our 35 day trip through China. We found the beautiful surroundings of gardens and water features pleasant. The rooms surrounded the courtyards and everything was on one level. We were tucked away in a little corner in the last courtyard where it was quiet. There was a mix up with the 2 keys... More

Always book hotels based on TA reviews. Only a handful of times have we not agreed with the overall findings. This was one of those times. Can't understand how this is so high up the ratings. Yes it was a great location. Yes the gardens are very pretty. But you don't sleep in the gardens. In fact you can't even... More

My husband and I chose this hotel to stay in during our honeymoon. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms were very nice. It is located near a lot of restaurants and is right next to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Unfortunately, even though the hotel itself was very nice its location was a bit inconvenient when traveling beyond... More

Fantastic location within easy walking distance to restaurants, the fountain show, a myriad of parks. (Wander around early in the morning to find groups doing Tai Chi and line dancing!) The rooms are clean and well equipped, with good wifi (a rarity). Breakfast is excellent, including gourmet coffees. The only drawback is that this is the centerpiece hotel for a... More

5/5 the exterior and interior common areas of the hotel are simply beautiful, elegant and enjoyable, location is super central, best espresso coffee in China we had. 4/5 bed part of the room, internet connection, toiletry. 3/5 bathroom (narrow, smelly and not very well mantained), breakfast (99rmb is overpriced for this quality), noises from the neighbouring park including early morning.... We booked this place for a two night stay in Xian. We came o visit the terracotta army and decided to extend the stay for another night as we liked Xian. The surroundings of the hotel are great with parks, shopping malls and a market style alley with attractions. The hotel itself is nicely built with places to sit in... More
