The highlight of the hotel is one of a president of China stayed there. They don't say which one but my guess will be that it was about 30 or 40 years ago. Since then the main part of the hotel hasn't been renovated. It's old. Even for Chinese standard that's definitely not a four star. Changed room twice and... More

My experience at the Ronghu Hotel, Guilin is different to recent reviewers. The lobby area is a nice enviroment and, depsite what others have said, there was always someone who spoke decent English at reception and I had no problems. Our room was on the 4th floor of the main building and was a decent size and clean. Though smoking... More

we didn't even last through the first night at this hotel - we had to move to a different one around midnight. booked a lake view room for 490rmb. at check-in we were told that we were upgraded to a suite in the building across the parking lot from the main building. it was a suite all right, but with... More

We booked this hotel fairly last minute, and there was very little available in Guilin. This was the only mid-priced hotel available for internet booking. We booked through the travelchinaguide.com website, as this hotel wasn't available anywhere else. The 1st problem we had was with the booking, which isn't instantaneous, and we received an e-mail the next day to say... More

Arrived at approx 2am due to flight delays. Still had to pay full price. This was a very luxurious hotel with very comfortable king size bed – not hard like most beds in China. Free internet with computer in the room. Overlooked the river. Magnificent. Only stayed for the one night as the price was outside our budget. However the... More

Used Elong to book. Would've been perfectly content with this hotel if it hadn't been for our return trip where it was full and stayed at the Universal. Stayed 2 nights at both hotels sandwiched around 4 days in Yangshuo. The concierge desk is useless as it is occupied by 2 young girls who speak NO ENGLISH and giggle with... More

You can see that the hotel was a nice hotel but now is run down, is very umkept. We had made a reservation for three people and got a confirmation with the price, we confirmed the price for three people in an email and we had all that in written but when we arrived in the hotel we were asked...
