If you get a chance to avoid this hotel please do. The rooms are worn out and smell of damp and mould. The so called mattresses could probably be used for construction as they were hard as bricks. The breakfast was forgetful. Overall a very bad experience. Attached some pics for you to see

Stayed a while ago on a Wendy Wu tour. The hotel is situated in a good area. You can have a pleasant stroll by the river. While our room was tired, the view compensated for that. I see negative comments about staff not speaking English. I guess Chinese tourists would experience far greater problems visiting the UK.

I stayed here September 2010 3 nights as part of a prepaid tour of 4 cities. Guilin is a charming small city surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Hotel is centrally located with plenty of shopping nearby. This was such a step up from the horrible Melody Hotel in Xi'an that it felt almost luxurious by comparison but it is a basic... More

Disappointing that On the Go Tours should choose this rather shabby hotel which has had its day. The location and view from our room was good. Other than that, the hotel and room including furniture was very old and carpets very stained. the breakfast was served to us in a huge cold and impersonal open-plan restaurant without given a choice... We stayed at the Osmanthus hotel for two nights. Central location and nice view. The personnel was friendly and the people at the front desk speak English. It seems that they have taken on board the feedback from previous guests. Nice breakfast in separate area. Over all over expectation.

This hotel is not great. There is no Wifi, and the computer provided in the bedroom did not work properly. The hotel is in poor condition, with wallpaper peeling off the outside walls. The only good feature was the view. The breakfast was not very generous (although this may be different in high season when there is a buffet, I... More

This hotel was part of my 16 day China tour package with 3 star hotels visiting Beijing, Harbin, Xian, Shanghai and Guilin. Large very cold and uninviting lobby. I was to stay here for 4 nights but begged to be moved after 2 nights. There is no WIFI anywhere, and as I had a new computer could not even use... More

We travelled here as part of an organised tour and we were a little skeptical after reading previous reviews. We were right to be concerned, I've not stayed in a hotel like this before. The reception staff were rude and made no effort to help us out or appear remotely friendly. We were given our key card and sent to... More

There was nothing wrong with the hotel in that the rooms though shabby were clean and reasonably comfortable. The reception staff neither looked at us or greeted us on check in - they spoke only to our guide. The 'Western' - and apparently compulsory dining room for western guests - was similarly staffed with hostile staff. The breakfast, unchanging, was... More
