We stayed at this hotel as part of a small group tour & were very pleased with the location. An easy walk to the night markets, Banyan Lake Pagoda & elephant trunk hill. Rooms were clean & tidy, although due for renovations, particulaly the bathrooms. Beds were very hard. No hairdryer was supplied in our room. Internet was available downstairs... more

The hotel is located at a quiet street 50m from the main road. No bother from the traffic, and with some luck, you get a room with a view over the river. Rooms were claen, beds were hard, but that seems to be the case all over China. Staff were friendly. Not all of them spoke English very well, but... more

Me and my bro and sis (both teenagers) were on our first trip to China. Didn't know what to expect and I have to admit the review of the hotel kinda scare me a bit. When we reached the hotel, it's not dodgy as I was afraid it was. The staffs at the counter were English-speaking and helpful. The check... more

If you want to stay in a central location that allows you to walk to most sites, this hotel is fine. My room was clean except for the carpets, but that seems to be a problem everywhere in China outside of 5-star hotels. I had booked through asia-hotels, carried a printed copy of my booking, and had no problem at... more

Adequate is the best you could say about this 3 star hotel. It is mostly occupied by people booking with Wendy Wu tours on their 3 star tour. This hotel is about what you might expect from a 3 star hotel. The important stuff is okay - ie the rooms are clean and bedsheets, towels ect are fresh. The decor... more

This hotel has seen better days, the cleanliness in the room is okay but the carpets are dirty. Beware if taking children as the windows in the room open wide and are low. Generally the staff were rude and I was glad to leave the place. more

Like the last reviewer, I booked this hotel online with Expedia - which according the the absolutely RUDE staff, has been problematic for them!! I was travelling the country as a single parent traveller with my 7 year old daughter. Like the last reviewer, I arrived from the airport (flew in from Chengdu), and we arrived at approximately 4p.m. and... more

Booked this hotel online with a credit card only to find when I arrived that the hotel refused to recognize my booking because they hadn't yet received payment for the booking from Expedia. Despite the fact that they knew I was coming they refused to give me a room unless I paid again. It was 11pm at night and I... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on a wendy wu tour and found if very comfortable. The beds were clean and the usual hard mattress supplied in Chinese hotels. It had a good location fright on the Peach Blossom River and was easy walking distance to the shops and night markets. We would recommend this... more

My wife and I stayed at the Guilin Osmanthus Hotel for 3 nights at the end of May 2008. Our room was nice, with a.c., minibar, and king bed ( with the usual hard Chinese mattress.) We had a great view of the Peach Blossom River. The only complaint was that the carpet was very dirty and in need of... more
