The hotel is best viewed when the surrounding lake is illuminated at night. It makes the location romantic and almost fairy tale like. The hotel itself is well situated and although a little less modern than Western Hotels of the same standing, it does the job. I would recommend it just for its proximity to the lake and the walks... This hotel is very average - it's certainly seen better days. I'm sure it was impressive at one point, however now it's a bit dank and rundown. Decent for the value, nice central location in the wonderful city of Guilin, but can't particularly recommend. The bathroom in our room needs remodeling and the wifi was spotty at best. And a... Wonderful elevated position above the riverside where you can have enjoyable walks both day and night. The area is beautifully lit up in the evening, the trees, bridges it's wonderful. The hotel is also lit up with red lighting that can be see from quite a distance. The room had a very pleasant outlook of the swimming pool,.gardens and mountains, however we were on the ground... I must admit when we were appraoching the hotel it looked beautifully lit, plus it being surrounded by the beautiful water it looked great! But,the hotel is very old and rundown. As far as customer service that's probably why I wouldn't go as low as a one star. My aunt fell and had an accident while climbing down the hike... More

The hotel offers a 4-Star Chinese comfort. The double room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was okay with fresh fruits and a variety of hot Chinese meals. The best thing is the good location to the river and little seas. You just pop out the hotel and you can have a beautiful walk around the river. Especially at night,... More

Guilin is a beautiful city, as is this hotel. The riverside setting is idyllic, especially at night when the river bank is lit with many colours. If you exit the hotel, cross the bridge and turn left, you can descend to a path which runs along the water's edge, then climb back to the Main Street, cross a switchback bridge... More

Every hotel is judged by its hospitality but here i think you could count on the staff's hostility instead. The various issues we faced as a family are listed in brief below: 1. The air conditioner wasnt working correctly and despite of several calls we had to manage without it 2. At checkout the staff charged us for a towel... More

The hotel is dated on the outside but rooms are modern and clean. It is located in a quiet part of town and 20 mins walk from the central square. We were only here for one night but we had no problem taking a taxi to the main square. A young student helped us find a local diner named Quality... More

We only stayed a few hours, arriving past midnight due to a delayed flight and left early to catch a boat cruise down the river Li. While the place looked nice enough, there are two major strikes on what was advertised as a four star hotel. Firstly the bed was rock hard. I like a firm bed but this was... More
