This Shangrila is very nicely appointed. The room was spacious and the bed, most comfortable. Large tour groups do stay here so keep that in mind for timing for breakfast and check-out. One morning we were asked if we could wait a few minutes as the breakfast room was full, however they did locate a seat for us right away.... More

Guilin, China is the place you start the Li River Cruise, and it's not a beautiful city. But Wild China, our tour company, selected the Shangri-La Hotel for our overnight there. It rivals large hotels in Beijing and Shanghai. You are greeted at the door by a woman in a traditional Miao costume, offering tea. Our room was spacious and... More

We were supposed to stay for 3 nights and we just left after one sleepless night! This is not a 5 star hotel, only one that probably used to be up to the Shangri-La standards. Let me explain: - Check-in - the front desk staff 'encourage' you to add 400rmb more to upgrade to the Horizon Club but we did... More

I have stayed in a couple of other 5 star hotels in Guilin over the past number of years and they were fine but certainly there was no lasting impression made. I am glad to say that Shangri La has changed all that. This is a superb hotel. The staff were excellent, wifi was fine, breakfast was very good and... More

Such a great hotel Rooms are clean, clear, elegant Lobby has a beautiful style, like most Shangri-la hotels Location is good, near downton and all attraction one should visit. Breakfast is kind of "soft" chinese style. Price is not low, but quality met there worth it.

Great hotel. Great entertainment. sumptous breakfast. friendly staff and beautiful location. day trips could be arranged from the hotel at a reasonable cost and taxis are cheap. very picturesque sceneries in and around . walking to the city is easy and one can enjoy the scenery doing this. Very enjoyable stay and only thing we were not told was the... More

We stayed 5 nights so got to know the hotel and area pretty well. We had paid for a club room and with the added benefits of the Horizon Lounge, this made for a comfortable and relaxing stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt the staff to be a cut above - welcoming, friendly and helpful. All of them... More

There are not a lot of international 5-star in Guilin. Shangri-la locates slightly away from the city center, cost about $30 taxi from one of the walking street (without bargaining with the driver). The hardware has checked all the boxes as a standard 5-star (interior has been renewed). However, I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of friendliness at the... More

I stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel Guilin over the holiday weekend in early May. I found this hotel to be everything I was expecting. It was a very nice hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Guilin. Upon checking in I was offered an upgrade to a River View Suite for minimal charge. So glad I... More
