This is a good Hotel for a business trip located not too far from the city center. The Rooms are spacious, very clean and nice bathrooms with Jacuzzi ( deluxe rooms) walking distance to the Metro, easy to catch a taxi and the doorman speaks English and is very helpful. The reception needs more staff who can speak a little... More

This hotel is quite a distance from the centre of Guangzhou and little English is spoken or understood in the area. The hotel was impressive (we had upgraded rooms) which armchairs of red velvet and gilt which were like thrones. The bed was huge but very hard/firm. The stall put an extra couple of quilts under my bottom sheet to... More

Hotel states its four stars but it's more like a two stars. Carpet is dirty and sticky, room is very dark, bathroom leaks water, no light at the mirror so can't shave, remote broken... I can go on and on. If unfortunately you booked this hotel make sure they put you in the front building and not the back side.... More

You can stay at the Sheraton or Crowne plaza if you want a reliable stay with a good western breakfast, but if you want something uniquely Chinese, go to this place. The Nanyang King's Gate Hotel mixes a 500 year span of different European architecture into one giant heap of gaudy goldness. Its incredibly gaudy and I kept gawking at... More

On walking in to reception it all looks very grand but we were put in a room across the "courtyard" which was small, dark, damp and smelly with a very dirty carpet. We immediately upgraded at a considerable cost to a room in the main hotel which was lovely. They advertise an indoor pool, when we went to use it... More

When I first came to this hotel, it was about an hour's taxi ride from the airport. Upon walking in, it was very... overwhelming. Everything was very gold colored. It seemed to be done in a European castle style. Done right, it could look very nice. However, it looked incredibly tacky. The hotel lost our reservation and we waited 30... More
