The room was to cold and the area is crap. As soon you get out of the hotel you are dealing with street gangs and a huge amount of rats. We tried to find a bank and walk a bit in that area but ended by walking 4 km to find some civilized buildings. If you plan to spend money... More

Checking out tomorrow with disappointment. Spacious and clean room but bathtub not working. Front desk services are poor with unfriendly services. They cant even smile to welcome guest upon arrival. When asked for directions, front desk staff gave half heartedly. The only upside are the services from the F&B staff during breakfast at 2nd floor. Though busy, these F&B service... More

Mandarin is rated four star which to my opinion is at least two and half too much. The room might be quite spacious but everything is old and rather dirty, few things don't work properly or at all. This is along a river and there is a rubbish storage close by. Unless your pet is a rat and you have... More

My problem with the Mandarin Hotel is that cooking oil smell everywhere in the hotel! The restaurant located on the second floor is visible from the lobby since both are not separated with a wall, so the stench of cooking oil in the lobby is quite unbearable!

Staying during the Canton Fair means abnormally high rates, so it maybe unfair to complain about my $190 per night rate. However a large bedroom with sitting room does not compensate for its failings. The wifi is ok in the lobby or restaurant ,hopeless/non existent in room. As to the quality of fittings! My safe was not working the bath... More

Mandarin Hotel is where I stop whenever I need to be in Guangzhou. I usually go through here enroute to other places. The people in this hotel are very helpful. I can not always get an English speaker but usually i can. The rooms are nice, although a bit over-priced. then, again, the location is good and this is the... More

We stayed at this hotel during a business trip spent mostly at the Pazhou Complex (Canton Fair). The hotel is fairly typical for Chinese standards. Four stars? - maybe again by China standards. It was ok for the price & good wifi connection which was the main reason for us choosing it. It is just 15 minutes taxi ride to... More

I had the possibility to stay at Mandarin Hotel during a week in October of 2011. The hotel offered our group very good basic business rooms, relatively good service and all things necessary. The hotel is situated a few blocks from the Guangzhou East Railway Station, so getting to the hotel is rather easy and fast if you are coming... More
