I stayed here for three nights on my first trip to Guangzhou. The hotel is big and fairly average, but good value for the price. The outstanding feature is the location. My room had good views of the river, and the whole area around the hotel is beautiful, being the old colonial outpost of Shamian Island (really barely an island... More

Stayed one night in this hotel. It is located at the center of Shamian, a nice island with full of Guangzhou heritage. Walking distance to the nearest subway station and Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street.

This hotel is a solid choice. It isn't perfect (adequately clean, spotty email reception) but the price is fair and, in this city of 12 million people, there is lots of choice. Three things really recommend it. First the breakfast that is included in most packages is stunning! At least 20 items plus eggs made to order and a noodle... More

Stayed a few nights in this hotel and due to budget limitations I was only able to stay in the East Side. The new more "chinesse" hotel feel. Walked past the West side and it looked lovely - so if you have the budget don't hold back. The East side has nice spacious rooms - avoid the north facing rooms... More

Arrived at 0730 and were promptly allowed a very early check in without hassle - that was a first for us. The room is a reasonably priced, basic 3.5 star room, clean and everything in working order. Location is outstanding and within walking distance to so many things. I'd certainly stay here again if in the area.

Expected the same standard as of Holiday Inn Shifu, but was very disappointed by the level of standard. I am a very frequent travelling to Guangzhou and were very familiar with Liwan/Haizhu district. I am kind of surprise I paid more $ on the west wing but the facilities there were far more less than those in the east wing.... More

very good price/quality ratio. Excellent location. Lots to see and do around, not just on Shamian island, like the old streets just across the river, on the "continent". Easy access to anywhere in the city by taking the subway/metro

The East Wing and the West Wing are separated by about two blocks. Not connected at all. They don't share any facilities. So a review of one is not a review of the other. They are like two different hotels. I stayed in an executive room in The West Wing. It was quite well equipped and tastefully furnished. Front desk... More

So the obviously unanimous opinion of this hotel is that Shamian Island is AMAZING. With beautiful sculptures, shops and good restaurants all right outside the hotel. There is also a shopping center and 9th street shopping within easy walking distance. So this facility earns a bonus star for location...but the hotel itself really is more like 2 stars. There isn't... More

We stayed in an executive room in the West Wing and it was well worth the extra cost for the lovely balcony. The room was clean and the huge bathtub was amazing!! Shamian Island is a lovely oasis and just across the river is the fascinating Qiping Market area. We were also able to walk to Guangzhou restaurant, one of... More
