Stayed at the Star Hotel during the Canton Fair, was on the list of "recommended" hotels...Well, luckily I didn't get one of the funky smelling rooms that reviewers have mentioned previously (though my colleague did). This hotel was 'okay' but I wouldn't choose it again. The best part of this hotel was the shower!! The lighting in the room was terrible. We were on a non-smoking floor, which is a joke in China because they don't read signs and people smoke wherever they like. I was woke up around 2 AM with a sharp smell... more
