Sorry whoever claims this to be a 5-star hotel i strongly disaggree. Let's start with the positives: Rooms are clean and well maintained they are classic, nice and well-lit. The breakfast buffet is very decent- one or maximal two staff are supposed to help the clients, supposed to ... The check in and out process were performed by unfriendly staff.However... More

After a series labirent, you reach to a spacious room with a poor selection of television channels (no CNN, no BBC). I guess the hotel was designed to local and other guests from the Middle east,, not for the westerners. Hotel charges for internet, which is uncomman for supposed to be a well known chain

For them this could be a 5-star hotel, but for me it is more like of a 3-star one. Let's start with the positives: (1) Clean and maintained (2) Reliable & approachable staff (3) Breakfast buffet is decent (4) Room is classic, nice and well-lit (5) Quiet AC (6) Beds are inviting and has good matress & pillows (7) Basic... How they got a 5 star rating is beyond me. The hotel looks nice and fancy when you walk in, but then you start to realize it's not so nice once you stay a couple nights. Food is terrible. Staff have no clue how to do their job and are rude. Called to have my laundry picked up, got transferred... More

I'm sorry to say but this Hotel does not live up to the Meridian name. Spent one night on a business trip and was disappointed. The hotel is very grand and labeled as a five star however, Internet is not free?! Room however was a good size but again my gripe was that there was only one English language channel... More

Thankfully I was only staying for a single night, but this was the most disappointing 5 star experience I had in Saudi Arabia. Reception staff seemed poorly trained so that it took over half and hour to check in 4 people. The Iftar dinner during Ramadan was of very poor quality and most of the hot food was cold. Service... I am a proud SPG member and this hotel is a disgrace to their name. Location: its about 5 Km to the holly mosque and not too far from the airport. For people who are there for business it could be an "ok" choice to crash for a night and work during the day. Staff: the staff is friendly, room... More

As said often, if you are not Muslim, this is your only choice in Madinah. Having stayed two nights in the hotel (in different rooms), overall I was satisfied with the hotel for the price. The rooms were fairly clean and of a good standard and the hotel's common areas were clean and spacious/cheerful. Some items to improve: Firstly, the... More

If you are non Muslim travelling to medina your choice is limited to le Meridien. The hotel is tired, and lacks any kind of atmosphere. The food choice is limited to one restaurant, and buffet. Had room service which was pretty good. Staff were friendly enough, but overall could not wait to leave

This really is a poor hotel that does not deserve to be in the Starwood brand. The hygiene in the bathroom is terrible especially with the mould on the mastic seal. It must be the worst breakfast in the Middle East with guests having to serve themselves coffee! The staff are slow and if you ask them to help they... More
