Brilliant location, clean and spacious, but suffers from 'attitude'. I assume this is cultural, but one doesn't get the sense that the staff are there for you. The rooms and beds are ok. The bathrooms are modern and good. Free good internet everywhere. Breafast is laughable - no variety, no imagination, very basic. There is no fitness room on site.

Hotel Volgograd is in a building in the center of Volgograd that want destroyed during the batteri of volgograd. In this building there is some history. We had 2 nights here and when we checked in we got a old, runned down room with old furniture, panneled walls and a bathroom that had the pipes outside of the walls. The... More

We came to this hotel just after escape from terrible "hotel" Octyabrskaya. Outside it looking good and porter opened the door. We asked about room and were able to see the room before checking in. The room is not big, but clean with rug, good contemporary shower. Beds were comfortable. There was complimentary water bottles, refrigerator, phone and small TV.... More

It is true that this hotel is more than a hangover from its Soviet past. The rooms are basic, Soviet minimalist style, the furniture is old, the place isn't as clean as it could be. But I find it hard to understand what you expect unless you're a newcomer to Russia (or have never left central Moscow). The breakfast was... More

In 30 years of worldwide travelling, including a great deal in Russia, I can honestly say that that this is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The carpets in the corridors and rooms are filthy, the breakfast uneatable and there in very poor or non-exitant wifi. If I could have had a shower with my shoes on,... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night, 2 families with children. As I understood, there are only 2 triple rooms. The hotel itself has great potential, due to great location and historical value. But, it urgently needs renovation. I got an impression that furniture was changed over 30 years ago. The beds were really awful. It was not possible... More

I know Russia well and there are many better hotels than this. Dirty, hot, noisy and poorly furnished. No WiFi and no sleep. Shop around and I am sure you can find better - locals told me so. The lobby is very nice - don't be fooled by it.

The hotel is the greatest disappointment among all hotels I've ever visited. The room is dirty and not cozy. The bed is ugly. The carpet seems never to be cleaned. Everything is very soviet. The breakfast is not tasty but ladies were affable.

OK, anywhere else in the developed world this would be a poor experience. Room at the end of an endless corridor with parquet flooring blocks held together only by dust. Creaky bed. Sockets hanging out the wall. Smoky smell in room (of course, this is Russia!). Carpet rolling into balls of wool. Weird breakfast - the most edible was luncheon-meat... More

I spent three nights in Hotel Volgograd in June. After entering the hotel, I was surprised how nice the lobby area and the reception are, but I was a bit dissapointed when I saw my room. It looked rusty, the carpets had stains all over them and the window faced the back yard, well something happend all day and night... More
