We were picked up from the ferry at Irkutsk harbor and taken to the hostel. We couldn't have find it on our own as it was in a small street somewhere without proper identification on the entrance of the hostel. Be sure to ask the entrance code to the building as we didn't and got locked outside until someone else... More

I had stayed there for 4 nights. The hostel is very close from the train staion. Since I had arrived at 5am, I checked in at 6 am. I was there when it's not high season, so sent a message before I arrive. Because I don't want to wait in the outside until the morning. Maria, who was very kind,... More

Positioned a 10 minute walk from the railway and 20 mins walk to centre of town. Nice rooms, shower was a bit small though I'm quite big 6ft2. Hostel was clean was good for the money. WiFi didn't work at all on our second night. Friendly lady on reception, they booked us a bus to Baikal and the hostel provided... More

This is a really nice hostel. Its comfortable and really quiet. Only two other guests when we where there. We did a trip to Olkun Island for two nights and the owner, Dasha told us to take the key with us! This was great as we could come back at anytime and not worry about how to get into the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights during our trans-siberian adventure last month. It is a clean, comfortable and cosy place with a very nice shower and a nice big kitchen. As another user says it is more like a homestay; we were the only people there at the time, and there seems to be space for about 5 guests at... More

My husband and I ended up booking here after a 3 day train journey. We arrived at night and could not make it to lake Baykal as planned but luckily we found this place. After phoning Anton directly, he confirmed availability and picked us up from the train station, we were made to feel very welcome here. We returned after... More

Turned up at 10pm at the train station and Anton collected me and my wife right outside the station entrance. Washing facilities and wi-if available. Anton and his wife are very friendly, I would recommend asking Anton to show you some of his Lake Baikal ice climbing antics :)

The trans Sib hostel is a little hard to find, and on the third floor. Its basically an apartment that has been converted into a hostel. The place was clean, and our double room was spacious. Bathrooms are shared, but clean. The only downside was that the staff did not seem to able to tell us how to get around.... More

We stayed 3 nights all up, very happy with our choice. The hostel is just a short walk from the train station, which we really liked. Around the area is an ATM, convenience store, supermarket and pizza place. The main city area is just a short tram (#1 or #2) ride away, very easy. It's a small hostel, but had... More

It seemed a bit odd to be staying in a back-packers' hostel now that we are retired, but we had our own room and Anton and Dasha were considerate hosts who ferried us to and from the railway station, and provided varied breakfasts on each morning of our two-night stay. Anton also provided tips on where to eat, and a... More
