I reserved a room with a river view. What I got was a room with a view to the back of the hotel. This might be, because I requested for a quiet room. Actually I didn't mind not having a room with a river view, because this way the room was quiet even with windows open. During my visit the... More

I didn't stay at this hotel. I wanted to stay at this hotel. I paid to stay at this hotel, but was refused at the front desk. Explanation was as follows:"We're sorry, our booking department is closed at the moment and your reservation will only go through tomorrow. Of course if you pay cash, we can help you." I tried... I was in this hotel in November 2013. With my husband, we spent 2 nights. We had nice riverview with very big window. We were sitting in armchairs and watching. The room was Ok,but bathroom no. It needs the renovation. It was quite big choice during breakfasts. This area is noisy. You should have stoppers if you want to sleep... More

This Hotel has a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on and the essential thing you need to know when you are checking in is to insist like hell that you want a renovated room!! Otherwise you will be stepping back in time to the communist era and end up with a room I have yet to find anyone who liked... More

I was actually pleasantly suprised as the reviews for this hotel aren't too flattering. Our room was newly renovated, clean with gorgeous views to river Neva. Free wi-fi. Restaurant was pretty ok and the breakfast was quite big but crowded. Also it's very close to a metro stop and to the railway station (trains from and to Finland). I was... More

An old, communist hotel. Room unrenovated for at least 20-30 years. A infect bathroom, a very hot room without air-condition, and a very noise road next to hotel. Staff no little kindness. For me it's a 2 star hotel with 4 star price.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel - it was part of a package tour. The tour was very reasonably priced and we were warned about the hotel (partly renovated and partly still like it was 30 years ago), hence our expectations were pretty low. We were lucky to get a room with a view to the river Neva. This... More

6 nights of noisy, hot, sleepless nights in a tiny room with mostly hostile service from the hotel staff. I asked: "Can you help us with earplugs". "No". "Can anything be done about the airconditioning". "No, nobody in the hotel has airconditioning". "Is it normal that a man claiming to be from hotel security knocked on our door at 1am?".... More
