Huge building, big, but very old rooms (at least what we got). The overall feeling was going back to the Iron Curtain years. Beds very uncomfortable, but stunning view from the window. Ugly old bathrooms, but they had hot air in a sort of strange bathroom closet to dry wet winter boots. Even not legally required, they took our passports... More

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel and my room was very good clean. But colleges paid little less and got old room. Still room was ok. Not very good as you can hear the voice from the next rooms. There are some mixed reviews on here, I stayed four nights and had no major issues. The primary reason for booking this was to take an early morning train to Helsinki on the last day. The Findlandsky Station and Plaschad Lenina Metro Station are both about an 8 min walk from the hotel. There is a Burger King, kebab shops... More

My expectations were really low on arrival here. However, these were pleasantly eliminated as in entering the room we were more than satisfied. The view is something else, something to be taken in and remembered. Eating food here is one of the worst decisions I have ever made in my life. Everything was disgusting and greasy on the first night,... More

In my opinion it is "nostalgy-hotel", from the period of 1980. Old building, old design, old carpets inside, and old smell... "Samsung-hotel" (huge letters on the top), but all tv's in hotel are not from Samsung. :))) But what is the positive sides: - Good location: just 15 min walk from Finlyandsky railway station (trains to Helsinki / metro station).... Beautiful. More beautiful than most European cities. But, I wish the tour guide had focused on both pre revolution and post revolution suited. We er only show pre revolution czar sites. The Russian Museum did have wonderful Soviet art.

This hotel is very old and tired, the rooms have been modernised since some of the older reviews. Although modernised, the rooms are quite basic , no air conditioning, no safe, no kettle and no draws just a wardrobe for storage, the bathroom has been refitted well with a rainwater shower and nice fitments. The rooms were not as clean... More

1)location: The hotel is quite far from the center and there's no shops and good restaurants nearby, but the view from the window of our room was awesome - better than I ever had in SpB. 2)room: I felt a lack of lanterns, there's no fridge, no fan, no kettle, no AC. But there's a cooler with fresh water on... More
