4 hotel stars in Russia is equivalent to less than half in the western world. Do not believe the photos on their website - Photoshop is a fantastic tool. Booked a superior room - got a crammed little room where my wife and I could not pass each other. The room was dark, and the window small facing an interior... More

The hotel room that doesn't kill you will make you a stronger traveler, or so I hope. Tiny, bleak, VERY low ceilinged-room with non-opening windows; musty bathroom with VERY weak flush; linoleum floor; no soundproofing; surlier-than-usual reception desk staff; TERRIBLE wifi. two tiny pros: cheerful and helpful bellhop; breakfast isn't exactly gold medal worthy but it's above starvation level, with... Nice looking hotel, pretty clean, breakfast is large but hugely uninteresting, with very low quality groceries and moldy bread. Location is decent but not nice and I would definitely look for somewhere closer to the center next time. Room is large and well appointed, but it doesn't make up for an extraordinarily disappointing breakfast and employees who lack basic personal... More

Pluses: 1) Location 2) Breakfast 3) Safe in the room Negatives: 1) No air conditioning in our room. 2) Tiny shower, no bath 3) Dated room 4) Television that barely worked, had lines all over the screen 5) No internet in the room, it did work in the bar however. 6) The water coming out of the facet and shower... We spent a very nice holiday weekend in St. Petersburg, and Hotel Dostoyevskiy offered a great hotspot close to the main street Newski Prospekt and most important tourist attractions. There's a subway station just nearby, and Newski Prospect is within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Single and regular rooms were quite small, but they were clean. We had three rooms and... More

As the other reviews say, the front desk staff are VERY rude, the only staff member that seemed friendly was the porter. The rooms were dated but were quite clean. When we returned late in the afternoon, after a big day of sightseeing, the housekeeper was cleaning the room and seemed very annoyed we had returned. (So we waited outside).... More

Room was clean and well appointed, staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was perfect for a full day's sightseeing. It included Russian food choices which made us feel we were not just in an homogenised international hotel. The location was ideal, opposite a beautiful church and right next to two Metro stations; very convenient. I would stay there again.

This hotel is good value and a good location, but you pay the price for this, as it is very big, busy, and a bit complacent. Breakfast is manic and the food is bad (few choices to suit a western palate), and the Wifi is almost non-existent - impossible in the rooms, and even in reception gave up and used... More

nothing really exiting to tell you about this Hotel, it is clean. Breakfast good. Some of the staff real friendly. Location Top. Agree with some fellow travellers...... Reception could be more enthusiastic !! One other plus-point however is the cellar-mall-restaurant! Great when it is cold outside....

I have stayed in your hotel with 7 friends. One of whom didn't feel well on the day of arrival and we sent her to the hotel to check in earlier. She was met at the desk by a few members of staff and was told that she cannot be checked in without passport and the driving licence (personal ID)... More
