This hotel is good value and a good location, but you pay the price for this, as it is very big, busy, and a bit complacent. Breakfast is manic and the food is bad (few choices to suit a western palate), and the Wifi is almost non-existent - impossible in the rooms, and even in reception gave up and used... More

nothing really exiting to tell you about this Hotel, it is clean. Breakfast good. Some of the staff real friendly. Location Top. Agree with some fellow travellers...... Reception could be more enthusiastic !! One other plus-point however is the cellar-mall-restaurant! Great when it is cold outside....

I have stayed in your hotel with 7 friends. One of whom didn't feel well on the day of arrival and we sent her to the hotel to check in earlier. She was met at the desk by a few members of staff and was told that she cannot be checked in without passport and the driving licence (personal ID)... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to be fair the rooms were adequate if the decor was a bit dated, our room was a twin with shower, non of the std rooms have baths so if you want one be prepared to pay a considerable amount more. their was a safe in the room and the overall the... More

We stayed at the Dostoyevsky Hotel with 2 other couples. Our stay was short and generally pleasing and the rooms were clean and adequate. The hotel is in need of a little TLC but as we were on a sight seeing holiday and would not be spending too much time in our rooms I was prepared to overlook that aspect.... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2015

We stayed at the hotel one week in our business trip in March. The rooms were quite warm and in my room I kept the window open during the nights. The Wi-Fi could be used only occasionally (it didn't work). However, the quality of services compared with the price level was quite ok until the last evening when we went... More

This is a decent hotel for the money - good location, large rooms with comfy beds and clean. The only thing that I would comment negatively on is the breakfast - it is not good but if all you want is coffee/tea and toast then it's fine. There are no cereals or pastries, just some boiled eggs, hot dog type... More

"Dostoevsky Hotel" (not Dostoevskiy) - this spelling was selected for promotion. It is located near metro station, not far away from the main avenue of S.Petersburg - Nevsky Prospect. Dostoevsky museum is also nearby. Rooms are rather small but enough for a few days stay. Simple breakfast and sometimes overcrowded. The lobby is very small. At a high season (during... More

We stayed here as a party of 33 young adults and superivsors as part of a tour group. Immediate positives: the room was clean, shower worked, bed was comfortable, breakfast simple but adequate to set you up for the day. Small negative: the bar was closed during our stay for a wedding and a party; the room was a bit... More

It is necessary to scratch deep to find something complimentary about this hotel. The only redeeming features are its location close proximity to Nevsky Prospect) and access to a supermarket and shops that are in the same building. Checking in and out was reasonably efficient. Note to the management: tell the front desk staff to smile even if it is... More
