Not much to say about this hotel, I was a bit worried having read previous reviews but the hotel was better than expected, rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were good. It is a trek into the centre of St Petersburg but the hotel will provide the number of the buses to take to the nearest metro and... more

Stayed here in 2007 and just returned to find this hotel MUCH improved. The breakfasts are amongst the best I have experienced in many hotels of this type. The rooms are modern and spacious with very nice bathrooms. Courteous staff by Russian standards. Please don't be put off by 'old' reviews; this hotel deserves a higher rating than TA reflects... more

Not a bad hotel for Russia. It is a bit pricey but keep in mind that Russia is not cheap. Rooms are clean and comfortable although the air con does not appear to blow a strong cold draft. We did not need it (in November) but it just want to note it for other potential travellers. Breakfast is great. The... more

Clean rooms, near the coast, not very "central" location but ok if you have transport. A tourist class, business sort of hotel. So, if you need a clean room for the night (or a few nights), make your booking. There is a 24 hr supermarket nearby to stock up on but as with commonsense, don't go there if it is... more

I stayed here as part of a tour group, just like probably 70% of other hotel guests, so I had no choice. I stayed there for four nights. Even though the hotel advertised itself as recently renovated in April 2008, it still looks and feels very dated and in need for a makeover. The hotel was very large (1200 roms)... more

I spent a total of 4 nights in this hotel in June 2008. Having read the reviews on this website, I was prepared for this not-so-good hotel. The room we stayed at was worse than I expected for the following reasons:- 1. There was no hairdryer despite what's stated on the hotel's official website - we had to ask twice... more

Hotel has several good points, but its location is not one of them. It is on an island. To make a 6 a.m. flight tothe U.S., you must take a taxi leaving at 2 a.m. because the bridges to the mainland close soon after --times may be a bit off, but this is an awful situation. The week we stayed... more

I stayed here in July 06 as part of a tour with Travelscope. I know some time has passed since I was there, but I would say it was a pleasant place to stay. We arrived early on the overnight train from Moscow, although we could not access the rooms we were checked in with no fuss and were allowed... more

Stayed here recently for a conference. I've stayed at international class hotels all over the world and I can tell you that this is the worst. Spend a bit more and stay in the centre. The location is the worst thing about the place, unless you love views of soviet bloc housing... and if you do, you can get them... more

I stayed there August 2007. Booked by travel agency. Far from a four star establishment according to western standards but acceptable. Do not expect anything luxurius though...Nice dinning hall. Surrounding area and buildings cannot let you forget the soviet era. Located far from center, 15 mins walk to closest metro station, bus 147 (small yellow one) just oppostte to hotel,... more
