I stayed at the Mir Hotel for two nights back in March, 2006. I found the motel to be clean but quite plain and drab. My overall impression of it was average. I did find the hotel management to not be too helpful. Our reservations were made by my Russian wife's friend Galina who lives in Tosno, Russia, not far from Saint. Petersburg. She made the reservations by phone and was quoted a much lower rate than what we were actually charged when we arrived. I believe the hotel staff found out that two of the four of us were Americans and took advantage of us.

The restaurant in the motel is expensive. Also, be extremely careful. When you are given a menu with prices of entrees, drinks and other items on the menu, DO NOT allow the waiter or waitress to remove that copy of the menu from your table.
