I've stayed here twice, both stays were equally as solid with a good breakfast. Most staff are fairly friendly and helpful. Check in was swift as was checkout. I don't like the fact that they said there was a gym in the hotel in February 2012 and yet two years later the gym is still being refurbished! I don't need... More

Nice hotel, good location. Basic rooms. Some elevators were off-duty during all my 3-day visit. The food was okay, no complains. Oh, yeah, I had to walk to my room for at least 250 meters. C'mon, only one entrance and long-long-long (very long) corridors. More than 300 paces from the hall to my room.

I was in town for work and stayed at the hotel along with my colleagues. I was a bit scared going in after reading the reviews but thankfully it seems to be a more of a question of expectations vs. reality than actual poor quality of the hotel. The lobby is quite big and tries for the Russian grand feeling.... More

Obviously there are two hotels in St Petersburg with the same name in the same street!! The hotel i stayed in was rather old. Rooms were big enough but not clean at all. The carpets is the rooms were filthy and some had fungi all over. I did not walk with bare feet in the room! the toilet and bath... More

I have stayed here several times over the years, but I do understand it has now been upgraded as the prices have rocketed?,,, hmmm. This used to be a functional cheap mainly Russian only hotel but now tries to be more western. Great location at the end of Nevsky, but the sticky carpets, drugs and prostitutes really made it a... I have stayed at this hotel twice. The rooms I had stayed in were rather large and spacious. This time, however, things certain had changed. The room did not have air conditioning (although, some in the tour did have air). We had to ask the front desk for a fan, which they let us have for the duration of our... More

The hotel is ok in general. But please, be careful NOT TO FORGET ANYTHING in your room after checking out! I forgot my coat (it was quite expensive) and when I called back to them after a couple of hours (when I realised I had forgotten), they insisted that nothing was found - although I left the room locked when... I stayed at Oktiabrskaya during three of my four visits to St Petersburg. The hotel is comfortable and is located right at the end of Nevsky Avenue. You can also find a subway station across the street, a supermarket right next door, and lots of dining and shopping opportunities nearby. The hotel offers a decent breakfast buffet. The rooms and... At the end of October it´s not the nicest time of year in St.Petersburg but you definetily can realise what this city can offer during summer time. Our hotel has very good location just in the heart of the city. 5mins walk to Moscow railway station and even shorter time for closest metro. Reception area is quite posh and roomy.... More
