Wow! This hotel was beautiful, service impeccable - felt like a VIP the whole time here. Our room got upgraded for some reason to a suite, received a personal note from Director of Guest Relations complete with a fruit / choc basket. The room was huge, including a walk in robe, lounge room and bathroom was large. Every night the... More

The location, history and style of the astoiria make it a great choice. We stayed in a junior suite which was perfectly modernised with a large sitting area, working area, spacious marble bathroom. It was a great place to relax after a tiring days sight seeing. I wouldn't worry about not having a view over St Isaacs cathedral, we faced... More

The hotel is located right in the heart of historical area in front of St. Isaac's Cathedral, which you can see from the restaurant window. But apart from that the hotel is very average. The room looked ok with a window overlooking the wall, so it was very dark in my room even during the day. When I wanted to... More

We stayed at the Astoria in a 3rd floor room without the magnificent views, but that was fine as we had booked a standard room. From the moment we began communications with The Astoria, we knew that we had booked a winner. Every email was answered promptly with useful, timely, and pertinent information. Even a late night phone call from... More

We stayed on the 7th floor with a view from our dormer window to St Isaac's Cathedral, in the snow. Room was a standard (we were travelling with a group from Andante Travels on a heritage trip) but good bed, plenty of wardrobe space and a spacious bathroom. Fittings were to a high standard, with a nightly turn down service... More

We spent four nights at the Astoria Hotel. As our travel agent had booked us a 'standard room', we found ourselves without Nespresso machine and wonderful views (just the back wall of an adjacent hotel). But the room (including the bathroom) was spotlessly clean, the towels were always fresh, the AC worked quietly and the free Wifi was a bit... More

The historical Astoria Hotel in St Petersburg is located in the centre of the city by St Isaccs Cathedral and is close to all tourist attractions including the Hermitage. This grand old building has all the modern amenities, however. Both inside and outside the building is a no-smoking zone. Our spacious room with separate bathroom and toilet was more like... More

I can fully recommend the hotel Astoria as a place to stay. It is steeped in tradition, everybody who is anybody has stayed here and I can quite see why. It is ideally situated right outside St Isaacs cathedral and is only a 5 minute walk from the Hermitage. In fact, staying here means you can get everywhere on foot.... More
