The hotel has been well maintained and gives one a feeling of Old World elegance except for the modern, sleek restaurant, which had an excellent breakfast buffet. It was also crowded every day for lunch with both businessmen and tourists - very good value! Our spacious,, clean room overlooked a quiet courtyard. Everyone on our tour felt very safe even... I recently spent 4 nights at the Angleterre and overall it was a pleasant and nice stay. We had a twin room which was spacious and comfortable. Great location as it sits with views over St Issacs Cathedral and is in walking distance of plenty of nice cafes and restaurants. Staff were great, super helpful and polite to deal with.... More

My husband and I stayed two weeks at this hotel in late September. Pleasant room, good service, excellent variety at breakfast. Major historical literary figures associated with the site and neighborhood. Across street from St. Issac's museum (church). Next door with shared gym etc is the slightly more upscale Hotel Astoria, once the principal hotel for vistors from the West.... More

I was here with a Group and they actually comp'ed our Internet and Breakfast. I am used to over paying for Internet, so this was a nice change. Both were quite good. The Breakfast was a buffet style and had some sort of stewed chicken which I have never seen at breakfast, but I really liked. The location of the... More

I stayed at the Angleterre for 8 days & the hotel staff were great & always able to accommodate our requests. We would stay there again. The General Manager ( being Italian & not Russian) made a huge difference to our stay. My wife became serioulsy ill whilst there needing to be admitted into the American Hospital. The General Manager... More

A terrible hotel - rooms are dirty and dusty. Very dim lights - cannot read unless you go near the window for natural light. Had to call for towels. The not friendly staff in the lobby does not wear name tags - tells you something.

We enjoyed a four day break in Saint Petersburg, staying at the Angleterre Hotel, which is in a stunning situation directly opposite St. Isaac's Cathedral. Unfortunately, the view from our room was a rather uninspiring view of an inner courtyard with a great selection of rooms with large windows affording minimum privacy for those guests going about their business. The... More

The hotel is just a few ninutes away from Neva river, Nevsky Prospect and Hermitage. Because its an old building, you have a long way to walk until find your room...No coffee mashine in the room which was very dusty, on the furniture and on the floor. The sheets ware a little smaller than the bed with no good feeling.... More

Stayed in August. The location is great but the hotel leaves much to be desired. Maybe it is just the fourth floor but this hotel deperately needs refurbishment. it's tired. The paintwork on all the furniture in the first room we had was chipped and the fabric stained. We had a room which looked at the fire escape and a... More

The location of the Angleterre Hotel is one of the best in Saint Petersburg. The hotel is situated next to the St. Isaac Cathedral, and the whole historic center (with the Hermitage) is within walking distance. The hotel features a beautiful lobby and a very elegant gallery with 'antique' statues where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee... More
