We went as a group of 25 friends with a first class guide arranged in London who was amazing guide to have knew everything possible . The hotel is not to large with nice staff who speak good English , the rooms are not large but are very clean , with a small bathroom , and we had a balcony... More

The previous reviewer really summed it up very well... "Great location, promise of a great hotel unfulfilled” There was something lacking. Claims of a higher end hotel were not really met to be honest. Room was fine, but a bit dated. Facilities a bit lacking. Staff not overly welcoming or helpful. Maybe that is Russia in general - I'm not... More

Arrived late at night on a casual weekend. Concierge deftly handled flight delay. Checking in we asked about the pool since it was a decision criteria in a city where there are not many pool/spa combinations. We were assured it was open and sent on our way. Only the next day did the concierge at the Astoria (the somehow sister... More

My wife and I stayed at the Angleterre for four nights and were pleased with the service - could not have been more attentive - breakfast - muesli at home will never be the same again and location - ideal for all the sights. The room was more than adequate but possibly reflecting the age of the hotel. Would stay... More

This is a good hotel in a good location for tourists. It seems used by both tourists and business people; there were a few small conferences during our stay. The staff are very helpful and speak very good english. We had a comfortable, smart but fairly plain room on floor 4 overlooking St Isaac's Cathedral. Being on floor 4 helped... More

Had five nights in ST Petersburg and had a great stay at Angleterre Hotel. Had room overlooking the entrance so had great view of buildings and a park. Quiet room, on the small side but comfortable and warm. Breakfast was vast and helped fuel us up for lots of sight seeing and travel. Lots of restaurants and cafes, supermarkets winking... More

The Angleterre is not only nicely located in the city center, close to the Neva river and the Eremitage, it has its own flair unlike the numerous "international type" hotels. The breakfast is remarkable with a great selection. The rooms spacious and clean. Internet complementary. One hint: additional power sockets are under the little desk. The staff is very friendly... its all about location for this hotel. Ease of access to everything you want to see and do. Good gym. I had a room overlooking St. Isaacs cathedral which was spectacular and it was well appointed, clean and quiet despite being on the main road. Breakfast was ok compared to many hotels I have stayed in Russia albeit pricey. Staff... More

Quiet, nice and clean. Staff really friendly. Good breakfast with lots of fresh vegetables and fruits (although the breakfast wasn't served at the restaurant for some reason). Bar was a bit overpriced. Free wifi. Overall a nice experience.
