The name translates from Russian as a "Lake Castle", and it is indeed a modern waterfront castle, with towers, nice thick walls, and spiral staircases. Very nice architecture, waterfront property, located on a historical embankment, yet less than 10 years old! Rooms are king size, some have a nice patio, nice lake views, and you can walk to the water... More

Caught the train from Ladozhsky Station, St Petersburg to Petrozavodsk an express that was actually better than I expected only taking just over 4 hours. I stayed on the 4th floor. Vreated by an emglish speaking receptionist. The room well presented but fridge too small you need to buy coffee and tea as well as milk. This is about a... More

Everything could and SHOULD be better for that average hotel with not so average prices. And first of all - breakfast for those, who comes for breakfast at 9 a.m. and had to wait for hot water, bread etc. in a queue, because someone has ate everything already and waiters couldn't bring it from kitchen once again.

Although the hotel is located at the end of the waterfront promenade (so a little far from the main drag) it is well worth it. Staff are very friendly and speak/understand English. My room was very clean and new. The beds were very comfortable and the area around the hotel is quiet. My only complaints would be that the shower... More

Stayed 3 nights in this relatively new hotel just by lake Onega. Staff was very helpful but very few could speak english or other western languages. Our room in 3rd floor was very spacious and clean, but had no armchairs so you could only sit on your bed. This hotel does not have automatic exchange of air so the only... More

My room was large with a modern spacious bathroom. The room was clean. Staff was helpful. The hotel is situated at the shore of lake Onega only 10-15 mins from the Petrozavodsk city center. I could see the lake through my widow. Breakfest was a bit unusual, most likely Karelian style, but there was enough even for hungry guests.
