Stayed at this hotel as part of an organised tour so cannot comment on the value for money side, but the rooms were clean and reasonable size. Reception staff did not speak much English, luckily we had our Russian speaking tour leader otherwise this would have been a bit challenging. Location is great, walking distance to the main attractions.

this hotel is close to the old medieval 'kremlin' fort in this old town which, despite its long history, is hidden in soviet era appartmant blocks. the hotel is good, clean and efficient - but don't expect west european frills. The food is staple russian fare ( I'm here as part of a conference so maybe the food we get... More

This is a perfectly adequate hotel for a couple of days. It is clean and staff were friendly (although I was happy I speak Russian as some do not speak fluent English). It is reasonably close to the Kremlin and there are supermarkets nearby. Most people visit Novgorod for only a day or so and this hotel is, in my... More

You visit Novgorod for one reason and that is to visit the Kremlin - its a one night stay sort of town so you want, good value, a clean & comfy room , friendly staff, reasonable food and accessible to the sight that you have come to see. The Sadko Hotel has all these. Most people will either arrive overnight... More

An adequate hotel for a short stay in Veliky Novgorod. A little outside the centre, the hotel is situated 15 mins walk from the main sights and 30 mins walk from the train and bus stations. My room was clean but spartan. The double glazing reduced somewhat the street noise, but the thin curtains admitted a lot of light. Wifi... More

Staff at the hotel is friendly, though some basic Russian is needed to get along. The rooms are OK, but the beds could be way more comfortable. The area is rather quiet, but it can be rather noisy inside, especially as some guests do not bother to close their doors when they gather. Internet access was tricky at best. The... More

We booked a junior suite and arrived early (7 AM) by train from Moscow. We could use our room immediately without extra payment. Staff was friendly and our room big. Next door is a pretty big supermarket. Next door inside next to our room was the door of the cleaners which caused a bit of noise in the morning (we... More

I stayed 2 nights in August, agree with previous poster.Staff do not speak much English, but gee they do try to communicate with you and always gave me the impression they were doing their best for me. At $AUS65 the room was small and basic but fresh and modern. Agree that the öther side of town is probably better as... More

Staff doesn't speak much English, but I can't fault them for that. They work in a Russian hotel that caters to travelers from all over. Almost better than speaking any other language, in my opinion, is their willingness to communicate. The job gets done. Rooms aren't the smallest I have had in Europe. Cozy but big enough. Breakfast was included... More
