We stayed for a weekend in this hotel. It's a great hotel for visiting Moscow. All the major attraction are within walking distance. The breakfast was incredible - the first time I saw salmon caviar in a buffet breakfast. Of course the prices are crazy-high! 14 euros for a bottle of still water in the loby is just an example.... more
I stayed here during my recent trip to Moscow and was amazed and impressed by every detail. The staff greeted me warmly and put me in a room with a fantastic view of the Kremlin. I needed some instructions on visiting the sights and enjoying some evening entertainment and the concierge desk arranged every detail perfectly. With the exception of... more
Me and another 10 hoteliers and tarvel agents have stayed in the Kempinski Balschug hotel for 4 nights attending a trade show. Being a hotelier gives you another perspective to look at other properties. I have to admit that my stay at the hotel was top class in comparisson to other hotels around the world I have stayed in. The... more
I emailed a couple of days before arrival asking for soya milk and gluten free bread and they were produced with no fuss. Everyone was very helpful. I had up to 20 minutes on the internet each day. Also loved the "pillow menu" - and a hypo- allergenic pillow appeared for me soon after the request was made as I... more
Stayed at the Kempinski end of March 2009. Location makes all the central Moscow sights accessible on foot - nearly everything is with 15 minutes walking distance with tke Kremin and Red Sqaure on its doorstep. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment, lunch in its cafe was fine. If you walk in the opposite direction of red... more
We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Baltschug Kempinski, despite the the fact that everything in Moscow is so expensive the Baltschug has to be one of the most enjoyable hotel stays we have ever had. We were greeted by the friendly staff on our arrival and immediately given an upgraded room with a view over... more
tread all the reviews before choosing it and finally ... it was better than I was expecting. I booked a room without Kremlin view because it was cheaper. But no problem. It was very big, very clean, luxurious, and the best place if you want to walk around the city center and sightseen. All was in walking distance. Even a... more
I stayed four nights at the Baltschug Kempinski and had a great time. I will deinately consider this hotell again on my next visit to Moscow. Pros: - Location! Great location right next to Red Square and Kreml - Easy axcess to the subway and walking distance to a lot of sights, restaurants etc. Always taxies upfront as well -... more
Built in 1898 & refurbed recently, a tad bland with brass fittings & little art work, this Hotel is overall very good, although some areas after the refurb have had all the original plasterwork removed, lessoning the turn of the century feel. The location is excellent as is the cleanliness, the Spa is great, the Molton Brown & the ordinary... more
