Yes, its old, dated and you'll feel like your back in 'bad ol' Russia, but it's good enough. We had comfortable sleeps, breakfast was of a wide range and hot, swimming pool, jacuzzi and pool was enjoyable yet expensive $23AUD per person per visit. The Japanese (Sushi) restaurant served me the best steak I've had in a long time. Downside... More

Hotel was built for the 1980 Olympics and EVERYTHING is still original…. Carpets, curtains, mattresses… Room is totally outdated, broken furniture, stained carpets, horrible smell in and out the room. Worst part is probably the canteen that serves as a breakfast room. Poor quality of juice, coffee, bread, etc. The good part is that the Cosmos is very conveniently located... More

Cosmos was a popular name when I first visited Moscow 22 years ago. It has not changed much. It is a bit discomforting to see security guards checking room cards when you walk towards the elevators going up to the rooms. Various options for dining available, service satisfactory.

A hotel built for the 1980 Moscow Olympic games. Still bearing Soviet heritage it tries its best to evolve with the time, but certain things remain outdated (i.e absence of plugs near beds definitely comes from no mobile phones era, no hairdryers), which is irritating, but something one can live with. The location is quite good - the subway is... More

This huge hotel has lots of stylistic remnants of the soviet times but tries to modernize in its own way. The arched shape is appealling but the rooms are old and merely functional. It reminds me a of a Holiday Inn from the 60s. Curiously NO HAIRDRIERS. Only one two plugs not near the bed and used for the TV... More

Seems far from the city center (on the map), but as underground station is so close, its less than 30 minutes to any destination inside the Sadovaja koltso. Hotel is overpriced like everything in Moscow, so better avoid this town at all. Breakfast was OK, loads of simple food, like hot buffet lunch.

Driving up to the hotel in my taxi I was impressed with its size and construction. As I entered, I was greeted by 3 men in black suits who directed me to the front desk. Later, I would learn that these men were part of the Russian mafia. My Russian girlfriend met me at the hotel for a two week... More

The hotel's lobby is a colossal shopping centre of overpriced wares and feels like a duty free. Staff were generally quite curt, and security seemed unnecessary and rude. One of them insinuated my girlfriend was a prostitute! I complained but the manager said "you must have misinterpreted" and left it at that. We ordered room service which was very expensive,... More

It is huge. Reception desk looks like big shopping mall - always full of people, small stores and bars. American credit cards (especially Amex) don't work. You cannot move anywhere (room to the restaurant and back) without constantly showing an ID. Decent rooms with outdated furniture. Phone didn't work, no water, paper, pen or radio in the room. Enormous distances... More

I was in Moscow for a week long business trip, and read some reviews before going and got worried, as it was my first trip to Russia. I must say the negative reviews are wholly unjust. If you visit Moscow then please respect local traditions, laws and ways of working. Once you have this mindset you will have a wonderful... More
