my friend and i [two mature ladies] stayed at east - west for 4 days before embarking on the trans-siberian railway and 2 days when we returned from siberia. the location was within easy walking distance to both red square and the kremlin and to arbat street. the hotel, had a lovely courtyard and a secure gate to the grounds.... more
This hotel has a nice courtyard with fountains, a good location and lovely chandeliers in the hallways. Unfortunately the lovely fountains breed mosquitos and resulted in about 30 bites for my husband. There is heavy traffic noise most of the night. This small boutique-style hotel was formerly the house of the mayor of Moscow. It retaims much house-like charm, including the wild colored-glass Italian chandeliers in the rooms and bathrooms.
