The hotel staff were very unfriendly and rude from the moment we arrived. They asked us for our registration and we had only been registered in one hotel (we have stayed in 4 hotels in Moscow so far). None of the other hotels cared or even mentioned registration. They demanded that my husband provide hotel registration for me. We sat... More

Considering how expensive moscow is, this is probably the cheapest private room hotel with breakfast + wifi you will find within moscow. However don't expect anything great here, I stayed on the West side of the hotel which is a shabby apartment building, newly refurbished on the ground floor but old, shabby, dirty on the floors beyond with no signs... A positive experience. We felt safe at the hotel. Baikal is short walk away to the Metro. Very clean area. Surtainly the place for our next stay in Moscow. A fine surprise was that the shared bathroom at the corridor, was a fine bathroom only for my friend and I ! We felt that it was a fine vue to... More

This is the kind of place no literal person would ever book for themselves unless someone rather stingy would have arranged it for them for the sake of saving money only, no matter how disgusting it is (like an organisation with a very tight budget taking no care of the health and safety of their employees). I spotted a cockroach... More

Horrible place, cheap by Moscow standards, but the quality is below even the cheapest motels in the US. We had a meeting arranged in the nearby area early in the morning, and booked the hotel to save some time on commuting. The street noise was so intense we couldn't deafen it even with earplugs, however while making the booking on... More

Just returned from a week long stay at the Baikal. It's absolutely what you would expect for the price (which is a good bargain in Moscow !) The lobby area is newly remodeled, the rooms are clean. The beds are dorm style thin mattress, with the "brick" style Russian pillow ! Bring a big towel because typical Russian towels are... More

Just got back from a 3 night experience. The place is an absolute nightmare. We were placed in a 3 bed room with a stinking floor, wallpaper hanging off the stained walls, a bathroom with no hot water and a toilet that refused to flush. The bathroom really was something to savour with its rusted pipes and toilet which would... More

I (my Russian wife & her daughter) stayed at the Baikal for 8 days as we were doing everything needed to get their visa's. I enjoyed our stay very much. I liked the fact that we stayed in a larger room and her daughter stayed in a smaller (side) room. This gave us more privacy. The hotel seemed about 30... More
