...the first and last one. This is an "old times", very worn hotel. Guests are allowed to smoke everywhere. Even the "non smoking" rooms are uninhabitable, since everybody smokes everywhere. Incentives and other events are taking place almost every day, it becomes loud and embarrassing. The only good thing here is the breakfast.

We stayed for 3 nights. The suite was really huge with two bathrooms. It was clean. The entire hotel is dated. Front desk service was okay. The dinner choice for vegetarians at Assembly restaurant (top floor) was very poor. Buffet breakfast had a good spread. Hotel is centrally located. View of the Moscow river and the statue is amazing. It... More

This hotel is clearly still under government control and most people staying here were clearly on government business. The positive side of that is excellent security. However once on the inside the dustiness of the system is hard to shake off. It's all a little dark and gloomy. The rooms are decent sized and you must try and get rooms... More

I arrived late at night and left first thing so it's hard to be too knowledgeable about all the hotels services. But as soon as I arrived I was struck by the old school soviet feel. It is undoubtedly a good hotel but needs a lot of attention. The clacking Parquet flooring under the worn carpet and the 1960s light... More

Stuck in " Soviet " time , but on excelent location. This hotel remind me on movie " shining " , big corridors , big rooms with excelent view...but little bit scary :) Refrigirator in room can be loud , since is 20-25years old. Rooms are clean but designe is not changed since Soviet time, together with the smell. Excelent... More

Premium location in a very center of history + night life. Fantastic views. Breakfast is like a good dinner. Spacious room with panoramic window. Nice restaurant on the very top. Equipment quite outdated and partially damaged. Fridge in the room is my age. Wifi is very slow 512k and inconvenient to use (login every hour). Hairdryer is nearly dead (five... More

The guarded hotel is located 1 km from Red Square. If you are lucky and stay in upper floor you can see it from your window as well as Peter 1 monument. Rooms are big and we'll equipped but furniture is from 1970's including fridge. In huge lobby quite often there is someone playing piano. Food is average and for... More

What a dreary place.. Russians - at the best of times - seem to have a "Who can look the most miserable" competition going, but the staff at this hotel take the biscuit.. I'm sure it was very presidential, when it opened in the 80's. But it hasn't seen a lick of paint or any decor update whatsoever since then..... More

This is the second time I visited this nice place after Oct2013. Really, the hotel maintains its good standards. Good service and cleanliness are the distinct marks. The hotel has great food and entertainment facilities for all visitors. Would definitely stay next time

A grand entrance and a huge lobby area with a 24/7 lobby bar. My room on the 13th floor had a magnificent view over Moscow and Moscow river. The entire hotel has a somber, 70's feeling with dark wooden panels - providing a certain Soviet vibe to it. The room was comfortable and big enough, but the heating made the... More

Staying in Yakimanka

Neighborhood Profile
Yakimanka
Yakimanka acts as Moscow’s evergreen lungs with prime beaches on the Moscow river. All the benefits of visiting and living in Yakimanka are gathered at the Moscow river embankment – three parks: Gorky, Muzeon and Neskuchny garden shape this green stripe with museums showing the hippest contemporary art. The area is full of activities for your eyes (museums), mouth (restaurants) and feet (sport and dance-wise). Access anywhere is easy, just hop on a river boat and continue your journey throughout the city.
