It is a big impressive building from Soviet time, but services and quality is just average. Although it is a 5 star rated hotel, you may expect around 3-4 stars. Since it is goverment hotel, it is safe, even they don't let your visitors to enter to the hotel :) Good location close to Kremlin.

When you have a room to the river, you will be amazed. But do not choose the hotel for anything more. It is correct, but pricey, the service not worth mentioning. Location of course is great. Do not choose a room to the south, they are rather poorly furnished.

As the renovation of the floors is in progress, some of the rooms are ok, some are old and mouldy, though all of them still have a nostalgic soviet touch about them.
