I have stayed frequently at the National during the past 5 years. The location is, in my opinion, the best in Moscow. Another strong pro is that the price usually is reasonable for Moscow standards, in many occasions under 200 euros per night. But, in the other hand, I don't think that it can be considered a 5 star hotel... more

The National is not cheap, but it lives up to it's price. You breakfast overlooking Red Square and Lenin's tomb. The front of house staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. the room staff are efficient and tidy, they try and speak in their limited English, which is nice. We have stayed in a number of Starwood hotels and although this... more

This was my first trip to Russia and I did not know what to expect. The hotel is beautiful and located in a prime location across the street from the Kremlin and Red Square. Check-in took about 10 minutes. I had settled into my room and was taking a nap when the phone rang. I did not answer it. After... more

I stayed here on business and the hotel was good. Provided nice accomodations though the rooms are relatively small. Great breakfast buffet! more

Stayed here for 3 nights. Had booked rooms in genuine expectation of staying 2 nights but because of flight booking problems we added another night at the start. Additionally one of our 2 rooms needed a name change, notified well in advance. This shouldn't have been the biggest deal in the world especially for a high end hotel but it... more

The hotel is ideally located next to the red square. the restaurant of the hotel has a view to the Kremlin which makes it a nice place to have breakfast or dinner. the metro is at 50 metres distance from the hotel and 200 metres from Bolshoi Opera. The use of internet is very expensive-16 rubles a minute! thats about... more

All hotels in Moscow are incredibly expensive and this was no exception. I booked it for its central location, overlooking the Kremlin (if you get the right bedroom) and adjacent to a subway. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Bedrooms had: robes, slippers, safe, plasma TV, minibar etc, The breakfast was delicious with a vast array of hot and cold... more

The national is overlooking the Kremlin, the red square and st. basil's - all in all you can beat the location. Rooms were nicely sized and amenities fine although the internet access was pricey. more

We just got back from our trip across eastern europe. Before the trip, I always browse TA to firm up my decision in anything. Hence, I felt obligated to share mine as well!!. We booked this hotel from 4th-7th October 08 via hotel & starwood website. We lived in Jakarta, Indonesia, hence Moscow is really a far away from home... more
