If you like Motel 6 and less, this is your kind of hotel. NOT my kind of hotel. No English spoken while we were there 4 nights. A Russian friend booked this, and was able to communicate all of our needs to the front desk. Rooms are tacky, worn, hot and noisy !!! You could lift the secure safe from... More

We only stayed 2 nights, and could not have been happier with the location. A short walk to the metro, and only 2-5 mins walk to Bolshoi and another 5 to red square. I'll put the negatives below however please understand that we were pleased with our stay as it offered everything we needed. Breakfast was a selection of cereals,... More

I stayed there in April 14 for 2 nights for business. What a wrong choice. Carpets are dirty, paint on the wall is old, room are not very clean and temperature in the room is 25+ degrees in Celcius, no way to change that. When I asked for a taxi (10 min ride), they arranged a special hotel limousine in... More

Very central and about 15min walk to the red square. Congenial staff and generally good service. The rooms were very dated and old fashioned but were very big and clean. Breakfast was very poor with rubbery eggs, undercooked oatmeal, stale pastries and terrible coffee. Go with what cant go wrong like the cereal! Also, the wifi us not free which... More

Stayed for 5 nights in February 2014. Excellent location, close to Bolshoi and red square. Plenty of resaurants and bars around. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Room quite small but quite adequate, clean. We had a room at the front of the hotel and the club opposite played thumping music until the early hours. Heating in the room as... More

The Budapest Hotel is perfectly located near the Bolshoi, Moscow's restaurant sector and less than ten minutes walk from Red Square. We stayed for one night near Christmas and found the hotel quite easily, as it's situated between two key boulevards. Other than location, our second priority was cleanliness and while our room was definitely dated (flat-like layout, old furnishings,... More

Only issue I have with this hotel is the Wi-Fi charges, go round the corner to their sister hotel, Peter 1 and get it for free in the bar. Also the bar isn't always open in Hotel Budapest which can be a bit of a nuisance. Hotel itself is quite old fashioned (or traditional as some may prefer to call... More

The hotel is located very close to Bolshoi theatre and to the red square. The rooms are old fashioned in the typical soviet style, also the comfort is in soviet style. Anyway it is quiete clean and this is the most important thing. The average price of this hotel is Eur. 200 or 240 depends of type of room. In... More

I have stayed in this hotel during a business trip. This hotel is connected with the Peter I hotel. It is a decent hotel located in the center of Moscow. Food at breakfast is good. A 5 minutes walk from Bolshoy Theater and 10 minutes to Red Square hotels are normaly double price. We therefore where afraid of lousy service and tiny rooms, but the rooms were spaceious and well equiped. The service in the reception was quite accedtable to be in Moscow. The breakfast buffet was delicious, dinner restaurant, bar , free WiFi and... More
