The photos were great. But that wasn't what I found in the room. I had been here years ago so I wanted a bit of nostalgia. Oh dear. Intimidating security that stare at you as you walk in. I mean, really stare! I sorted them out by smiling and speaking Russian which caught them off guard. Cheap furniture. Processed food... More

Hotel very well located for visiting Moscow and cheap for the overall look. But we were disappointed about services : at the reception was nobody cares even when approaching... Rooms are very large, it's nice, with sitting area and office area but very dated, dilapidated carpet, dusty curtains ; breakfast without much appeal, not fresh bread, depressing dining room ...

The hotel gets 3 stars, but it's location bumps the review up to 4 stars. Useful staff at the front desk who all spoke English. The room was fine, but could use a solid update. As others have mentioned the walls are thin and you can hear outside noise which could be a problem if you are a light sleeper... More

Was really happy with my stay here. For this budget, you couldn't pick a more centrally located hotel. Room was a bit old but great size, with a bath in the bathroom also. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great. There is even a pool and spa service available for a small fee. 10 mins from Bolshoi, 15 mins from... More

This is a lovely hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable, though nothing fancy. It is close to a lot of trendy cafes, restaurants, pubs and walkable areas. About 10 mins walk from the Metro station. The street is quite charming. We loved staying here.

Nice hotel, located in close the city center and to Metro. Breakfasts are good, room is nice and clean. Free Wifi with good speed Good value for money. Some rooms may have noise at night from the nearby nightclub, make sure you ask about it during check-in.

This is the second time within 12 months that we have stayed here. Our room was on the 5th floor. It was spacious and quiet, if a trifle shabby. However, it was more than adequate for our purpose and we bore in mind of course that it is cheap accommodation by Moscow standards. One can upgrade to a more luxurious... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. Our room was huge on the front of the hotel, clean and comfortable. The decoration throughout the hotel was fabulous, real old stye Russian and interesting. The breakfast was adequate and filling. Beware of rooms on the far right of the hotel as there is a gentleman's club underneath and the music can be heard... More

I recently stayed at the Budapest Hotel and I can not really think of anything negative to say. Sure the interior and the decor of the hotel was like that probably during the Soviet era but I think that is what gives the hotel it's personality. The service was remarkable! Starting from check-in where the gentleman was able to get... More

We visited this hotel for five nights with anther mature couple, we are all in our late fifties. This hotel is located within walking distance of most of the major tourist attractions, the Kremelin, Red square etc. The hotel itself has seen batter days and could benefit from some re-decoration. The breakfast is good with a good variety of choices.... More

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighborhood Profile
Tverskaya
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
