Slightly surprised when the taxi stopped down a side street because the building does not look like a hotel from the outside and there was no sign (contrary to as shown in the picture). But inside the hotel is fine, nothing special, but fine for a weekend away at a great price. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very... More

The hotel is well located is you come by car or taxi. The rooms look are very elegant, if we talk about the 1950's, the beds que comfortable, but there is no water in the room or what you normally find in even 3 stars hotels. The food is good.

Looked at the web-side much more better then in real. Not renovated, with poor conditioning. What was good:very friendly and very helpful stuff! Breakfast is quite ok, standard choice. Strong Wifi signal in the room. What was not ok: Very small and inconvenient bathroom. Quite small room (single standard). Shower was broken (but repaired same day after asking). In my... More

This hotel was listed as the Energetik Hotel on some booking sites which is very confusing ... especially for the taxi driver. Warning: took over 2.5 hours from Sheremteyevo on a Thursday around 5.30pm. Hotel is on a small side street right opposite a construction site! Therefore, noisy, often closed off to through traffic and not scenic. Not a lot... More

Very strange place, pretend to be historical but no. First of all, if you are Russian be aware staff could be rood! We have room 223, nice size but for standard room. It's hard to get normal shower bcs it's not working in proper way. We didn't try breakfast. About the location - if you are going in summer time... More

Location is far from metro station, you have to take tram from hotel that goes to metro station (it goes every 20 min). Room was good and clean but the walls are like paper and you hear everything that is going on in other rooms. At the reception only one person knew english, other were just looking at me and... The biggest problem is the google map location. It is wrong. So I was very disoriented and most of the time unable to read the names of the streets. So is a very big problem. Hopefully someone can fix this. When i travel, I take as much information with me(maps, transportation, etc etc).(attached a pic of the map). The hotel... More

Staying here because of a friend nearby - never would've chosen small businessman's hotel on side street practically in a construction site. But this little unprepossessing place is all anyone needs. It is spotlessly clean with king bed and up-to-date European bathroom which is small but efficient (for one person). Good cabinet space and excellent light for makeup! The people... More

Hotel is a converted old building, not really a hotel layout, and rooms can be of the pretty strange shapes. However, location is good, service and attitude of the reception is very good, prices are reasonable, so what else do you need if its a short overnight visit? Its a good 3 stars

Well this was my first trip to Moscow. I have heard that everything is very expensive, but the money that I paid for this hotel was way too big for such environment that we have found. 1. The service at check in is quite good if you keep in mind that it is still has a smell of old Soviet... More

Staying in Basmanny

Neighborhood Profile
Basmanny
Basmanny is Moscow’s most artsy neighborhood, containing the highest amount of galleries and cultural spots per square meter in the city. Spend the whole day discovering Russian contemporary art at Winzavod and design at Artplay before moving from the industrial scenery to the Chistye ponds for a calming dinner.
